Forbidden Science

Cutting my legs off at my knees would prevent me breaking my ankle. It just wouldn't make me healthier overall. So I don't do it.

Worst. Analogy. Ever.

In what possible way can a vaccination be comparable to cutting your legs off? Do tell us.

He predicted that comets had Carbohydrates not Hydrocarbons (since the Israelites ate them)

That's right. That's why I don't take them.

The fact that the medical profession negligently ignores side-effects that don't directly kill you doesn't mean that this is remotely sensible.

Uh oh... I can see where this is heading.

The medical profession illuminati secretly mixed explosives into the vaccines back in the seventies, and these days we have human beings spontaneously combusting all over the world, and the guv'mint is trying to cover it up by claiming it's the work of muslim extremist suicide bombers!

Please, stop the cherry-picking and quoting out of context. It simply gives us more evidence of your disingenuously sloppy scholarship.

The point wollery was making was quite clear, love: a vaccine prevents a specific disease. Period. And, since this is apparently news to you: they work. Well. Have for many decades.

Would you care to offer your contrary evidence? You've been asked for evidence before and have ignored those questions. Show a bit of courage, love. You take a bizarre stance, rational people expect you to have strong evidence for this stance. Where is it? Why are you afraid to present it?

Please write rationally. This is simply bizarre, and simply gives us all evidence you may have cut off your head to prevent thinking.

Ignores the side-effects of what? Vaccines? What, specifically are these side-effects? What is the evidence for them? What is the evidence that the medical profession is either negligent or ignoring them or both?

Actually, they openly mix some of the most toxic chemicals known to man into vaccines. There is no need to keep it secret because most people cannot think for themselves. They have a television to do it for them, and people generally act according to the programming coming from the TV.

Perhaps if you backed up generalizations and claims we could then discuss them rationally. All you have done here is argue from ignorance, and an appeal to authority.

Please provide specific evidence of your claims. Perhaps then we can discuss this further.

I found a site that lists 7 of Velikovsky's prediction that were later determined to be true (although that first one seems a bit strange to me).

Still, even if he made only these seven predictions against orthodox science and these predictions are accurate, that doesn't mean that Venus was ejected from Jupiter, bounced around the solar system, passed close enough to Earth to alter its rotation, and then fell into an extermely regular orbit sometime in the past 6000 years.

Still, I'd say that he was more than lucky in coming up with these predictions. His theory seems to have predictive power. Or perhaps he's just psychic, and made up his theory to fit the as yet undiscovered facts.

Couple of thoughts . Satistics for vaccination are compelling . I'm old enough to remember when folks used to get polio and die or be crippled for life , something I don'e see so much these days .
There was a mathematical idea something like Fermats last Theorem , which had been checked for numbers up to several million . Enough to be statisticaly significant , except it wasn't true . A solution existed that was found by a computer ..eventually .
" There are lies , dammed lies and statistics "

Wow! They put toxic chemicals in vaccines!? "Some of the most toxic chemicals known to man" nonetheless!!!:jaw-dropp

Why don't you go ahead and identify a few of these "most toxic chemicals known to man"?

...snip...In the meantime, I would be fascinated to know what the standard explanation is for the extent of the last ice age. In particular, how did it manage to extend down to Scotland, but fail to cover the much more northern Sibera?

Simple.
Siberia receives (and also received) much less humid, moisture-rich air from the oceans, thus having an overall smaller precipitation, thus preventing the formation of continental glaciers.
Fascinated?

· The Moon has had recent surface melting, seismic and volcanic activity, none of which should be true for a body that had supposedly been dead for 4.5 billion years.

Depends on your notion of "recent". The lunar maria (the dark terrains that can be seen with naked eye) are composed by thick basaltic flows, and started at 3.8Gy and ended at 3.1Gy. I think 3 billion years are a lot of time, even if we are talking about the geological time scale. No recent surface melting there. Maria volcanism is supposed to have been a response to an episode of asteroid impacts.

adjuvants:
Aluminium
Squalene
Freund's (FCA)

preservatives:
Alcohols
Neomycin
2-phenoxyethanol (2-PE)
Streptomycin
Polymyxin B
Mercury
Formaldehyde

Stabiliser/solvent:
Tween 80

Which is what makes them believe in things like psychics and Kevin Trudeau.

Actually, it's fluoride salts that keep people compliant and unquestioning. Fluoride was tested and used for this reason in German and Russian concentration camps during WWII.

:big: The owner of the whale.to website is John Scudamore, a known usenet loon...
 ...

He posts stuff without even understanding half of it... and often misquotes and misinterprets the stuff. Some of his favorite medical writings were written over a century (or more) ago. He is not a reliable source:

Next time try to be more specific with your sources, and try to get some real ones, not some scaremongering stuff. Try places like www.pubmed.gov (which even indexes some questionable journals like "Homeopathy" and "Medical Hypotheses") and even http://scholar.google.com/ .
