Finally, proof Obama hates both the military and marriage!

Borrowed from elsewhere.

A little research reveals:

The couple was warned of the possible conflict. The golf course warns guests that last minute changes may happen when the president is in town.
The White House was not informed of the conflict.
The president doesn't make his bookings personally. He has staff that do that.
The wedding planner said that the new location is an improvement, "unless you are a golfer." It's more secluded and free of the noise from golfers.
The president called and apologized.
Quote:
“He apologized and congratulated them,” McCarthy said, adding that it was a “wonderful talk.”
“We were all there, it was perfect,” she said. “Made their day.”

I don't blame Obama, he has idiots working for him.

What was a class act, is calling the couple, that was about all he could do.

Why do you say that? What did the people working for him do wrong? The White House was not informed of the conflict.

Ah to live in the simple world where everything can be excused away if the possibility exists the other guys may have done it as well.
I wasn't excusing anything away. It is silly for a big deal was made out of this by anyone on the right. I don't believe the president did anything wrong.
I was just asking if Gawdzilla thought the far left would have been any different.

Calling them idiots is probably too far but I would think the president would want his planners to watch out for these kinds of things to both not bring bad press and to minimize how people are put out by his activities. Obviously someone dropped the ball maybe it was the golf course itself.

Somebody had to be called an idiot, its in the MA.
Do you think it is OK for someone at the last "minute" to have to move their wedding venue. Have you had much experience with brides and mothers of brides? They can be easily stressed!

It's worth noting that the wedding was moved a short distance up a hill to the base commander's house overlooking the ocean. It's not like they had to go to a Motel 6.

Granted. Like I said, I'm glad it worked out. And it was cool that they got a call from POTUS apologizing and congratulating them.

I'm just planning my daughters wedding right now and I know how she would feel if her venue got pulled on her at the last minute. It would be an added stress at a time that is already very stressful. And all so the Prez can play a round of golf; no American citizen should be that important. I think that the course has a crappy policy regarding "if POTUS is town he gets priority." I think the course should have informed Obama's staff of the conflict and given Obama a chance to redo his plans.

I will say outright that this isn't Obama's fault. I would expect in the future that there will be a little more checking into these kinds of conflicts by Obama's (and future presidents' staff). At least I would hope.

Nobody dropped the ball really. The White House didn't know of any specifics of activities that would be affected but everyone else involved, golf course, wedding party and golfers all knew that there was a potential for things to be moved.

The couple was warned beforehand.

And they were moved to what the couple agreed was a better location and were quite happy.

But in this case, the venue did not get pulled. The venue stayed the same and the location at the venue was upgraded at no cost.

Do you think the hard left wouldn't have made a big deal out of a similar Bush or worse yet Cheney move?

Well, there is a physical record of how the hard left responded when Dick Cheney accidentally shot someone. I can only wildly speculate how the hard right would act if President Obama accidentally shot someone.

If I changed the placement of the flowers I think I would catch Hell from the bride and her mother. I get that it was actually an upgrade and that was nice. But don't underestimate the stress it caused when they first found out about it. As the sister of the groom said, “It was emotional, especially for her—she’s the bride and in less than 24 hours they had to change everything they had planned.”
