This comes from a thread on flight 93 in which there are many many stunide nominations but this one was my favorite. This first part in for some context into how Vinci thinks.

Often one uses logic before science, because science in the past has also told us the the earth is flat, that we're the center of the universe, and that we think with our hearts rather than our brains.

Logic is loaded with past knowledge, including sciences such as physics. And so assuming this member has taken a physics class, it would more plausible to use logic rather than conduct hundreds of useless tests and still have noone(sic) believe you.

From there we arrive at the conspiracy theory. Basically, if the plane crashed then all the surrounding trees would have been destroyed and some how he uses 'logic' to link this with the moon landing...

It's logical, 272,000 pound objects that fly require a lot of fuel, if it had 3/4ths of its fuel supply when it supposedly nose-dived into the ground, then those trees that, at most are 100 meters away, WOULD CATCH ON FIRE.

If you think otherwise, please tell me how we landed on the moon. Oh, right we didn't.:rolleyes:

"They" should have, but "they" couldn't, since the concrete core with 3" rebar on 4' wide centers that supported the towers was blown up.

According to a poll, a majority thinks that 9/11 was an inside job. Plus, there were insider tradings with AA and UA the day before. And 19 cavemen sending planes into two towers? Ha! Ha! By the way, Bush Jr was the president, so he had to corrupt NIST so he could promote the official story!

Argumentum ad populum? Post hoc? Appeal to ridicule? Circumstancial ad hominem? What? Logical fallacies? That's childish and BOOLSHEET!!!

i found the link to it at this forum, and i think it would do everyone here well to read that thread and see what a polite discussion looks like. it's heavily moderated and there is none of this condescending, childish b.s. about "logical fallacies" nor are there personal attacks.

Didn't the idea of the world being flat die way back in the pre-Roman days?
 
According to Terry Jones' Middle Ages TV series, the idea that the western world (up to the 15th century, anyway) thought that the Earth was flat was created and popularized by Washington Irving, in his books about Christopher Columbus.
