Pragmatic fascists are quite happy to game the electoral system if it suits their needs. Disavowing democratic systems often occurs once they are in a position to seize power, often reached in part through electoral efforts.

Lying about an electoral result and insisting, through violence, that their preferred candidate be declared the rightful winner is very much in line with fascist ideology.

The modern MAGA movement hits all the notes for fascism. The fact that these people are not yet powerful enough to openly admit as such and deal with the social stigma that comes with such labels is not proof that they are not fascists.

Patriot front would apply because they advocate a fascist ideology. MAGA does not. Fascists reject democracy....bad and good democracy. Liking bad democracy is not fascist.

And yes, declaring adherence (private or public) is a major part of it. Fascism isn't a set of actions but is the reason you do those actions.

The record gun violence in Philadelphia this year is specific to a cluster of North Philadelphia neighborhoods.

There are more than 1,020 shooting victims so far this year. Forty-eight percent of those victims are between the ages of 18-29, and nine percent are under 18.

That's nearly 100 children shot so far in 2021.

The thing that separates fascism from right wing authoritarianism in general is adherence to a fascist ideology. They will tell you they are fascist just like other ideologues will tell you their ideology.

Regardless, if they successfully hide their ideology, then they cannot be distinguished from other forms as fascists.
