This may be one of the most ridiculous defenses of miscreants we've seen 'round these parts.

It doesn't matter what the origins of the sooper sekret WP/OK hand signal are. It's the fact that low-IQ-Caucasians believe that it is and that they use it.

If it turns out the the Nazi Salute was the result of a public relations meeting at Rabinowitz, Rabinowitz, Klein and Eisenberg because it reminded them of the fact that the National Socialists all had stinky armpits, does it make it any less impactful when the moronic barbarians adopted it?

What difference does it make? Their thought processes are irrational and arbitrary; fact that they're white supremacists already proves as much. Even a subdued and clinically detached response will get spun as tears and hysteria by trolls anyway; and not having a response at all to bad behavior is ultimately self-defeating because ignoring bullies doesn't actually stop them and never did. So "why did they start?"? *shrug* Meh.

That's because it's not a "defense" at all, merely a statement of fact. 4Chan trolled, stupid people fell for it and before anybody screams TARRANT ! look at the date of the cop story.

Do you know what else is a hate symbol ? Milk. Yup, milk. So the next time you're in the grocery store keep an eye out for nazis furtively browsing the dairy aisle looking to pick themselves up a little liquid white supremacy. Oh and in Starbucks too, just look at those stainless steel jugs of hate they have out.

For extra bonus stupid, look into the idea that both milk and the OK symbol have been identified as hate symbols in, yup you guessed it before I even typed it, Sweden.

No milkshake for you !

It's merely a statement of MEANINGLESS fact. The origin doesn't matter. The fact that wannabe badasses use it and think they're putting one over on the principal or the mayor and that they, like most paleos, are SO STUPID THAT THEY BELIEVE IT, is the point you refuse to acknowledge.

The milk thing never went mainstream. It's a real chuckle to people who have Pepe the Frog avatars.

This is, in fact, exactly how symbols work. If the guys on Stormfront, the guys on 4chan, and the Christchurch shooter all agree that the "OK" hand gesture in their symbol (they've mostly been nice enough to turn it upside-down), then that's what they're communicating to each other.

First off, the "OK" symbol actually means that you are gay, you're broke, or you are giving someone the middle finger. It all depends on where in the world you are.

As for the whole WP thing, it has the stench of the whole Hook'm'Hooks being satanic claim.

At the end of the day, if idiots think that something is a signal because of a dumb joke, and so use it, and others get the joke and use it as a way of perpetuating the joke, and others get offended because they don't understand the joke, well before long we're not going to even be able to smile without being accused of belonging to some offensive group or other.

I just realised that I have probably offended a bunch of people and marked myself as a member of some offensive group by facepalming.
