Face, meet leopard. Leopard, meet face.

erm...

See also the Coarse Acting Show.
Never heard of it but it looks interesting. Oooooh it makes me think of a series of books I read in (maybe) the 70's. The rough/coarse guide to medicine and other subjects. The medicine one included things like using incontinency aids to win bets about how much beer you could drink before needing the toilet which will give a clue to the tone of the books.

It didn't really happen to her, but she's the primary ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ idiot in the story (source):
Bryan José Rojas Galofre wanted to give his wife a lovely honeymoon to see the beach for the first time and perhaps a glimpse of President Donald Trump, whom she supports.

This is in January of '25 and Trump was doing some inauguration of a Republican event at his Donal hotel.
He spent more than three months in ICE custody in Florida. Rojas also faced accusations of gang affiliation; he says he feared being deported to El Salvador and lost his stable job and work permit. The family says they’ve lost their house and car, had to deplete Rojas’ 401(k) and are in debt.

“In the end, it was a bad decision,” Rojas, 34, said in an interview

Yes, yes Rojas it was a bad decision. The family is from Wisconsin and in a surprising turn of events!
Zaragosa, 22, a U.S. citizen, was raised in Wisconsin in a family that supports the current U.S. president.

“I’m his fan. I believe Trump is a good president,” she said.

That's right. They literally arrested her husband, took him to jail for 3 months, completely and entirely ruined any financial success they'd had to that point all while costing her husband his job, where he worked at a brake pad production plant and made it up to a supervisor. Make no mistake these people ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up a few times along the way. They had a weed grinder, an airsoft pistol under the backseat (which the wife said she used for protection because it looked like a gun and apparently that's needed in Wisconsin) and they were trying to get through president level security to get in to the hotel, but man, all that ◊◊◊◊ and you still support the miserable sack of crusty toenails that's in the oval office. Mind boggling, truly mind bogging.

Some people continue to buy and collect Franklin Mint crap too.

She got what she voted for.

Trump Cult Is Quiet Quitting MAGA (Lucas Bean on YouTube, Mar 30, 2026 – 1:10 min.)
They are leaving, quietly, and saying nothing publicly. Thet can't admit they were wrong, so they quietly take off the red hats, remove the bumper stickers, take down the flags that used to fly so proudly.
I've seen a lot less hats around.
How about you?

Interesting video from MS NOW with clips from people who have joined the "Leaving MAGA" support group for former members of the Trump cult:
'You were fooled': Disillusioned Trump supporters speak out on breaking away from MAGA (MS NOW on YouTube, June 25, 2026 – 10:49 min.)
President Trump turned an event for America's 250th anniversary into a MAGA-style rally at a time of growing fractures in his base. MS NOW Reporter David Noriega spoke with former Trump supporters on why they left the MAGA movement.

At least one of them is so articulate that it's difficult to understand how he could have have joined the cult in the first place:
5:11--> Hearing you guys talk about MAGA and about supporting Trump, it sounds like you're talking often about, like, a cult that's damaging us, right?
Rich Logis: We all have a need for community. Our species yearns for a communal existence. And what MAGA does provide is a place where people feel seen, heard, and recognized. And some of their very valid fears and concerns are acknowledge and validated. We used to say we're not in the cult, the outside world is the cult and we're not the crazies, the outside world are the crazies.
(...)
Tori Hurst: It's so hard for people because it's not that you're dumb. You were fooled. That's incredibly hard to admit.
Rich Logis: We are in the United States of algorithms right now and MAGA media is very efficacious. It's very effective and it's very disciplined.

This is why I keep saying that we need to offer them a soft landing after they slid off into the cult. At least, some of them were indeed fooled, which was dumb, but also very human. Sometimes, humans aren't very smart, and we shouldn't make it harder for them to become smart. When they show signs of actually trying, we should support them and offer them the kind of community they now need and yearn for.
They slipped. We shouldn't make their path towards reason and sanity more difficult for them.

There are several videos of people seen literally leaving the cult, literally turning their backs on Trump and his BS:
Trump EMBARRASSED by crowd's MASS EXODUS from his 'Great American State Fair' speech (MS NOW on YouTube, June 25, 2026 – 5:29 min.)
After multiple musical artists pulled out of his Great American State Fair, Trump tried to save the event by inserting himself as the headliner, only to be met with a stream of attendees leaving in the middle of his speech.
We shouldn't be gloating and booing them. 'I knew it all along. How could you be so dumb?!' We should be out there with a welcoming committee, applauding what they are now doing and asking them to join the resistance.

problem about "soft landings" is that they are a springboard to the exact same thing next time it comes around.

We need a Truth&Reconciliation Commission and make it mandatory education.
Unless we firmly establish what Wrongs were committed and who committed them, we are just paving the way for the next Trump.

also, we should be under no illusion that the MAGA disciples will seek reintegration with the Moderate Mainstream.

They are already drifting to the Tuckers, MTGs and Fuentes of the world, learning that, yes, they were fooled, but it's okay because it was all massively sophisticated Mossad PsyOp operation that anyone would find hard to resist. And Kirk found out, etc.

If we are lucky, they are going to fracture into different camps that hate each other more than they hate a hopefully more unified Center-Left.

Hopefully, they fracture fractally, until each former MAGA is a "camp" on their own, hating every other former MAGA camp.

When they leave the MAGA movement, they'll still feel that they re disadvantaged, they'll still feel that blacks and women have too many advantages, they still hate all wokeness, and they still want the U.S. to become a white religious nation.

Their disappointment that Trump's policies have just been for the rich is not going to change anything, and they'll offer their allegiance to a new leader who'll seem to address their situation. Given Trump's exceptional flair for the stupid, and counterproductive, their next leader simply can't be as incompetent.

And they'll go back to hiding their bigotry like they did before 2016.

But as @dann suggests, some may be won over to the light.

I wonder if the horseshoe theory can work so that they can actually join Mamdani's movement? I know examples of left wind extremists who have gone fascist, but I don't know of fascist who have become left-wing extremists.
