Face, meet leopard. Leopard, meet face.

I did. You just quoted it.
All you said was "Dump supporter gets exactly what he voted for, whines about leopards eating his employees' faces."

Just what part of Trump's agenda did the person vote for? Was it outlawing transgender people? Was it a crackdown on illegal immigration? Was it cutting billions from the US budget? Was it shutting down the Department of Education? Was it merely a nebulous "Make America Great Again"?

And how did it affect his employees?

While a picture may be worth a thousand words, often as not that's not true of video. As others have noted, the video you linked to is a 15 minute rant. One could probably get the gist of it in one or two sentences.

Recently on Bluesky someone posted three videos totalling 4½ minutes of their dog's illness, unexpected diagnosis, an operation, and full recovery. All three videos can be summed up with the sentence, "Our dog Bunsen almost died due to a very rare tapeworm cyst growing inside him, which weighed ten pounds when it was removed."

I also want to stress there is no guarantee the video will still be available on YouTube in the near or medium future. For this one it's probably not very important, but link rot is a serious issue on the web. That's as good enough reason as any to supply a decent summary of external content.

I don't think it's worth watching. He rants too much and doesn't actually have any video of the person who made the complaint.
I think I have seen the video he is referring to. A contractor working on a project with 23 employee and eighteen of them stopped showing up for work. Please don't take my numbers as gospel. I'm working with a very old brain.

I think Safe Keeper's description was about right. The video was overly long, but basically it boils down to that. The employer voted for Trump and got what he voted for, which was the oft-touted idea that undocumented immigrants should be deported, and that one way to do this was to make their lives hell and to instill enough fear that they would self deport.

Mostly, though, I disagree with the highlighted part above. If you voted for Trump you voted for all of him. We all have our favorite causes, and decide how much they matter, compared to the rest of a candidate's agenda. The country is full of people for whom some pet idea seemed worth the price who are now complaining about the price.

What "description" did Safe Keeper give? The only thing we know of from the posting was that it talked about 1) a trump supporter, and 2) he had employees that were affected. We assume that it involved immigration, but it could also involve health care cuts, or tariffs causing business problems resulting in layoffs. (What description was given was accurate, but it was also pretty light on details.)

Even among the MAGAchud there are nuances. Yes, ultimately they all voted for a bigoted con-artist who is incompetent, and those Trump supporters can and should be blamed for anything that results. But there are some who might claim "I voted for Trump because I am anit-Trans/want tax cuts/love guns, but didn't support his anti-immigrant policy", and others who might claim "I am anti-immigrant thought he would just deport the bad ones, not everyone". Both were foolish/naive, but its interesting to know just what flavor of stupid they are.

And the description never gave an indication about just how the employees (and ultimately the MAGchud itself) were affected. Just sad because his employees were deported? Saw his business go bankrupt because staff was arrested by ICE, or didn't show up because of fear? Or was it even about immigration, or was it that his employees were out of a job because tariffs affected the business?

There are plenty of these type of stories floating around. It would be nice to know before we spend 15 minutes watching a video if it provides something unique or is just a rehash of near-identical events. (For example, I have heard stories about farmers having trouble getting workers... if it was just another example of that, I wouldn't watch. But if it was about "business owner actually declares bankruptcy", or "ICE detains US citizens following raid on business", I'd be more likely to watch because it is a more unique example showing the effects of Trump's policies.) Again, we don't really need a detailed description or complete transcript, just something a little more than just "trump supporter sees employees hurt".

Another reason to give more of a summary is because it helps in searches.

You might remember "oh yeah someone posted a video that talked about X", but without more of a description it becomes hard to search through threads that might be dozens of pages long without a description that provides at least a few unique keywords should you ever want to rewatch in the future.

To be fair, I too find him a bit... Ranting, for lack of a better word, too. He has nice messages and insight into the redneck/rural mindset and situation, but he tends to work himself into a... Not sure what word to use, ranting mood(?) Throughout his videos, so I often find myself not finishing them.

The fact that he doesn't show other videos is actually kinda a plus for me, though. I liked that with Beau of the Fifth Column, too. I guess it's just a reaction to so many videos these days being over-edited to the point where they are just chaotic. It's especially annoying when the video uploader says 'x said y' and then shows a clip of x saying y, almost verbatim. Like dude, either show or tell, you can pick one over the other but there is no reason to do both.
"Into a lather" or "into high do" are two expressions I'd use there. I've not watched the video but if he's getting nasty "into a snit" might also work.

Okay, this is kinda funny. Might as well join in.

Firstly, the title of the thread is 'Face, meet leopard. Leopard, meet face'. I trust whoever reads it are leopard-induced FAFO Schadenfreude aficionados, so me posting a vid should be like sitting in a thread for the can opener bridge and seeing someone post a link along with 'hey, here's a vid of a box truck getting its top peeled off by the can opener bridge!'. It shouldn't need more of an explanation than that for anyone to watch it because it's already what we're all here for. It's not some serious political development from the Führer or his cronies that we need to know the specifics of, it's just a video about yet another MAGA idiot realizing that votes have consequences.

Also, yes, the length of the vid is 15 min but since videos tend to be structured so that they have an introduction first, chances are you won't have to watch the whole thing to figure out what it's about. In fact the very title (from memory) says 'He voted for Drumpf. Now his employees don't dare show up to work'. Also, the context of the thread, and the political climate, really narrow downs what it could be about anyway. In my mind, most likely it'll be something about ICE going after migrants.

To use the can opener bridge analogy again, if I post a link and say 'hey, here's one with a cement truck!', chances are it won't be about the driver being mugged, or accidentally hitting a button to pour the cement on the road. You know from the onset it'll be about it being too high and running into the bridge.

Another reason to give more of a summary is because it helps in searches.

I get this argument a bit more, but it's still a fairly generic vid. To use the can opener bridge analogy again, a box truck getting its top peeled off is pretty mundane and you may not feel the need to go searching for it. A crane running into the bridge, or a truck hitting the bridge and catching fire, is more memorable, and then the title should reflect that. Even if I wrote 'this guy voted Dump and now his employees don't dare come to work' it'd just be one of countless such incidents (and videos) since January and you still probably wouldn't find it easily in searches.

I don't think the video description issue is one worth dying for, but I suppose the description could have been more specific. I'm not entirely sure why this would make a difference in whether one opened it or not, since the general premise of this thread is "something Trump voters supported that is now biting them," unless a person reading the thread has an affinity for some of the things Trump voters supported and regrets that they bit back. Oh well. Yeah, he could have been more specific, and probably could have stated the whole content of the video in one sentence, leaving it up to the reader to decide if it was worth opening. Small matter really, I think.

In the link I posted above, I think the link title says enough to tell us the subject. I agree with Gulliver Foyle that the commentator quoted in the link is a mealy mouthed apologist for the supposed mistakes of the Democrats, essentially blaming them for not oversimplifying and lying as efficiently as the Republicans. Accusing bigots of bigotry may not be wise in the short run but it's not exactly a fault. And being accused of not listening by liars when you are listening is also not the same as not listening. Screaming "open borders" over and over does not make the borders actually open. If a madman comes up to you in the street and kills you, it's retroactively true you should have killed him first, but failing to do so is not exactly a fault.

I think the article you posted is part of the campaign by the establishment Dems to keep their ever right wing drift front and centre and blame the progressive wing of the party for the problems their own wing are causing.

I gave a reason back in post 1065. Because some of us want something new/unique. After all, some of us want more than just a steady diet of outrage and schadenfreude.

Lets say this video was about a MAGAchud employer that sees his (undocumented) employees arrested by ICE and is having troubles running his business as a result. Ok, its tragic for the workers involved. Yes, the employer deserves no sympathy for his hardships. But, it is a story that has been repeated multiple times across a variety of businesses. I don't have much interest in watching it because I already knew there were plenty of cases of "employers suffering because undocumented workers disappear".

Lets say it was something different.... employer sees US Citizens lose health care thanks to Trump. Or American citizens were included with those rounded up in some ICE raid. Well, that's a different situation. It gives not just "another employer who screwed himself over" but an employer who screwed himself over in new, different ways. And should I ever happen to be talking to some MAGAchud about just how bad Trump's policies are, its just one more (different) thing I can point to.

Yes, all those cases are still variations of "trump supporter regret" but there are variations in the stories that would make one story worth listening to and another that would be "ok, heard this sort of thing before".

If we had to record every "US business closes because Trump-supporting owner loses critical immigrant employees to ICE raids" story, there would be tens of thousands of essential the same story, over and over. There's many big cat ranches already reporting drastic shortages of hungry leopards.

I can't recall any US business shutting down permanently due to an ICE-caused worker shortage. However, I've heard many stories where a business is having problems getting enough people to complete work in progress, such as building structures and harvesting crops.

Add to that companies at risk of shutting down because a lot of tourists aren't visiting the USA anymore.

Ok, then I will revise "closes" to "suffering unexpected and crippling financial difficulties".

‘WE SCREWED UP’: Young Men ABANDON TRUMP! (Secular Talk on YouTube, July 3, 2025 - 15:25 min.)

What is most difficult for me to understand about Trump's success as a politician is when people say he has charisma and comes across as strong. How can people avoid noticing the weakness of this moron? His stupidity and his lies?

A media owned by billionaires who are very, very happy with Trump is very selective with which six second sound bytes they show?
