I already admitted this error. Originally, I was under the mistaken impression that the FBI was requesting that people analyze photos and give those analyses to them. Checkmite corrected me on that point.

My criticism now lies mainly with those in this thread who were attempting to do their own haphazard photo "investigations".

ETA: Man, the thread DOES move fast. I'll have to catch up later... Time to go to work.

It appeared the same to me. I remain skeptical, even for an ethnic group as small as Chechens.

Here is the article if you're interested. Most reside in Russia and Europe, which is believable.

CNN photographer Gabe Ramirez arrived in Watertown as the chase ended.

"Police were in a standoff with the vehicle just down the hill," Ramirez said. They ordered one suspect out and commanded him to strip down completely naked before putting him in a patrol car, which did not leave the scene.

The man was later released and is not a suspect in the case.

But while the man was being held, FBI agents approached the squad car, and police ordered the man back out of the car. FBI agents questioned him -- still fully undressed -- on the sidewalk.

In an early phase of the lock down, a man could be seen lying face down on the street with his hands outstretched in front of him and his legs crossed. It is unclear whether this was the man who was arrested and ordered to undress.

That part of Russia is riddled with rebellious autonomous republics. My only question is-- if this story does turn out to be accurate-- why they chose to attack an American city instead of a Russian one? It would only make more sense, but alas, it's time to allow the BPD to do its job and conduct a thorough investigation. I remain interested in the motive.

Right, I saw the broadcast of this about two hours ago. The only speculation, a bit later, was that it was just "wrong place, wrong time" or maybe innocent roomate, friend etc..

Could it have been the jacked SUV owner?

I'd have to call that spin.

We have a while to wait but I'd say... if they brought their grievance with them, and they've only been here a year or so, then their perspective is that of a foreigner.
