Everything Old Is New Again

Wait... Wait, wait wait wait wait..... So... Ruby and Oswald were sitting around talking about killing JFK... And somebody is sitting in the corner jotting it down... AND TWO MEN WHO ARE PLOTTING TO KILL THE POTUS HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT!?!?!??!

Yup! I smell conspiracy! It was obvious that their music career wasn't taking off....

No Wayyyyyy!!!???? Me too!!!!
Jack really had some good rips, but Lee Harvey couldn't carry a tune to save his life!!!:p

A transcript of a conversation between the two? So was it Ruby or Oswald who hired the stenographer for it? Or was it recorder by authorities by some line tap? In which case, why exactly did they not act on it?

Oh right, because they were part of the conspiracy. Which explain why they would keep a transcript like that. Yeah

Not to mention the obvious two problems:

1. Kill Oswald and now somebody has to kill Ruby.

2. What compensation could you possibly give a gunman to kill someone in broad daylight in a police station knowing full well they will be arrested on the spot and put away? For that matter: Ruby was sentenced to death for the murder and later it was reduced to life in prison with no possibility of parole. He died a few years later of stomach cancer but oh well.

"List Jack we need you to take this guy out... we'll give you a million dollars. The only catch is you have to do it in the police station so you'll end up put away for the rest of your life. No?.... how about two million?"

Anyway, Ruby would never have kept his mouth shut anyway. It's well documented that he was a hot tempered loose cannon with a screw loose or two. That's what everyone who knew him has tended to say. He shot Oswald be cause he was a bit nutty and wanted attention

Oh, this is something to have fun with, but not to take too seriously. That Terri Moore person (Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins's assistant) comes out and says she believes it's part of District Attorney Wade's movie script. Unless there's something about the document to suggest that it was indeed a transcript of an actual recording - a possibility relegated to the highly improbable, given Moore's judgement of the language (or "dialogue" ;) ) - Occam's razor cuts things down to the more realistic possibility. Especially given the acknowledged fact that Wade was working with movie producers.

It's something to have fun with, sure, but the first fantasist who tries to make this out to be something big should get a heavy dose of the "Reality Thunk" (an open-handed slap to the back of the head).

It isn't just a movie script. It's a bad '60s movie script.

Lee: There is a way to get rid of him [RFK] without killing him.

Ruby: How's that?

Lee: I can shoot his brother.

...

Ruby: But that wouldn't be patriotic.

I wish I could take credit for it...but it's been around for a while...."Thank you Dallas!!!! Good night!!!"

How do they know it was a 'movie script'?

Is there a date associated with these documents?

If they are from a couple years after the shooting, wouldn't writing movie scripts seem rather tacky that soon after the POTUS was assassinated?

Wouldn't it seem rather stupid for Two guys talking about killing the president to allow someone to take notes?

To me, the dead giveaway is that the tag for Oswald's lines is "Lee:" Any real transcript made by a qualified transcriptionist would undoubtedly have used "Oswald:" or possibly his initials.

Not with the so-called transcript; that's one of the many reasons it's higly suspect.

Did you even read the linked article?

Mr. Wade wrote about the movie, Countdown in Dallas, in letters found in the safe. Mr. Wade prosecuted Ruby in Oswald's death, although the verdict was overturned and Ruby died of cancer in 1967 before his second trial could begin.

"I believe it important for the film to be factually correct, that it come from official files, that the witnesses who in any way were participants should appear in person in the film, and in my opinion, will result in an excellent film not only of interest at present but the record of events for history," Mr. Wade wrote.

The DA was clearly involved in a possible movie deal. You are merely attempting to spread FUD about the most likely explanation for the "transcript."
