Split Thread Epstein murdered

the REAL, ACTUAL Epstein scandal is that ALL of the Media made the conscious decision not to investigate any connections between Trump and Epstein at any point before or after he became President, or worse, decided to sit on what they had.

They should be forced to start any item they publish with "don't trust us, we are just partisan hacks who will never tell you anything that our CEO decided would hurt his pals."

And goes doubly for Merrick Garland and any other Prosecutor who decided that finding out who much of a rapist a future or current President is isn't worth the effort.

if there was ever reason to believe that large parts of the press were in the bag for trump this is pretty validating imo

At this point, I think we safely say that there was a conspiracy to provide cover for whatever happened that night in Epstein's cell: either his suicide or murder.
It is next to impossible to claim that there was no involvement of key people with access to and authority over the prison who facilitated what happened.
And that afterwards, it was covered up.

decades long and they claim there were hundreds of victims over several decades. so pretty big.
There were indeed hundreds of victims but I assumed that the scope of a "pedo ring" would be measured by quantifying the number of criminal perpetrators and co-conspirators. If we assume everyone accused by Virginia (Roberts) Giuffre was indeed in the ring, that's around eight people altogether, which is the same size as a recently convicted grooming gang out of Bolton, UK.

I think what drives people to this story is not the size of the criminal conspiracy or even the number of victims (much larger) but rather The Secret Rulers of the WorldWP vibe which the story invariably exudes. People on the left assume top-level right-wing leadership was in on the crimes, and vice-versa, as @Orphia Nay noted earlier.

admittedly i’m not really sure what the best way to rank pedophile rings is. you can plug it anywhere in the top 10 and i’ll agree with the ranking i guess. not like there’s an official rankings for this stuff.

i agree the prolific nature of the perpetrators and the reluctance of the government to investigate it are factors. it was for me when i said what i said. as was the duration and number of victims

The letter definitely does not read like it's written by Trump, as much as I'd like to see him taken down.
Apparently Trump poems are trending on Twixxer. Here's the best:

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty fell off because he's a very stupid egg. Possibly the stupidest egg ever. Not my words. That's what people are saying.

The suburban moms and anti-establishment types want to see A-list celebs and high profile politicians on the "list".

I feel like his clients were mostly wrinkly old guys nobody's ever heard of.

“After intense blowback from this incident, Attorney General Bondi then appeared on another FOX News show, Life Liberty Levin, and claimed that a ‘whistleblower’ told her that [Manhattan U..S. Attorney’s Office was] ‘sitting on thousands of pages of documents’”; that ‘we will get everything’; that she was ‘assured’ there was more; and that the country would eventually see ’the full Epstein files,” Durbin wrote.

Durbin said his office had learned that after that, the “FBI was pressured to put approximately 1,000 personnel in its Information Management Division … on 24-hour shifts to review approximately 100,000 Epstein-related records in order to produce more documents that could then be released on an arbitrarily short deadline.”

“This effort, which reportedly took place from March 14 through the end of March, was haphazardly supplemented by hundreds of FBI New York Field Office personnel, many of whom lacked the expertise to identify statutorily-protected information regarding child victims and child witnesses or properly handle FOIA requests,” the letter said.

“My office was told that these personnel were instructed to ‘flag’ any records in which President Trump was mentioned.”

maybe there’s been a few bigger ones. it’s decades long and they claim there were hundreds of victims over several decades. so pretty big.

but thanks for pointing that out. 3rd biggest it is then.

I doubt it was that big, but I also think the wealth, influence and name recognition could potentially make it the most significant. Even if it was just Andrew Windsor it would be historically significant although more restricted to the UK context, if it was just Windsor and Trump it would still be one of the biggest stories in modern history. Anyone but Trump would almost certainly have had their public life severely curtailed by the known links between himself and Epstein (and his public comments about Epstein/his own daughter) already. Trump's brazenness is his super power.

the text of the letter is bizarre. idk what to think about it
I was thinking about it. Just speculation, but it supposedly was in a bound book of letters that his friends wrote to him for his 50th birthday. That sounds like something that someone organized. Someone had the idea to ask all these people to write letters and this person would put them all in book and give it to him for his birthday. Whoever that person was may have written the text of the letter and asked Trump to sign it. The text was supposedly typewritten. This could explain why it doesn't sound like Trump but has his signature.

Except it's purportedly written by Trump to Epstein, not the other way round.
