Your superstition is what should be outgrown, and hopefully we as a society get beyond the childhood and teenage years of a civilization without doing something stupid like slitting our metaphoric teenage wrists due to emotional hysteria.

I hope one day you learn to overcome these problems, and you are "blessed" with the clarity of vision to understand and improve and take part in the world with the rest of us.

I hope I don't take the thread in too many other directions, but I do want to point out that there is no evidence of a global flood and there is overwhelming evidence of the Earth being more than 4 billion years old.

The key word here at JREF is evidence. If you have it, then present it and we will be swayed. If you don't, then get it or give up one's argument.

Numerology is not evidence. What do you have to say to the the folks that showed that there are all sorts of words that link to you mystical numbers?

I can tell you that they will NEVER admit being wrong.

See this is the nice thing about apocalyptic end of time prophecy : you can always shift them in the future if what you prophetyzed did not happen in your life time.

So if NOTHING happen , no anti christ, they will just say "you'll see ! The end is neigh and will happen later ! reppent !". But they will *never* ever set a time limit and say "by that time if nothing happens then the prophecy was wrong". You might as well as them to swallow snails raw and alive.

My prophecy : after 2012 somebody will predict the end of time for 2018. Or 2020. Or 2122. Anyway : YAWN

Ah, that's a shame. But maybe there's just the faintest possibility that a little seed of doubt might have been planted in his/her brain which will provoke a bit of sensible thinking.

It is cheating. It assigns all letter with a number divisible by 6. After that it searchs for word on which the number by letters correspond to 111. And it does it in english. Do it in Latin and it won't work. Same for ancient greek, or even my maternal language French : won't work. And I am not even speaking of language not using roman alphabet... Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Indian : you already removed , what, 60% of earth population ?

That is stupid beyond belief, and anybody with a stable mental health would see that.

Well done, I thought that if someone was going to analyse words as they relate to the Bible, they would use Jewish numerology.

I'm embarrassed to say that I tried to go the christian route a couple of times in my life. I used to wonder why others were so full of the holy spirit, while I felt nothing special.

Nowadays, when I read a thread like this, it just makes me feel the whole christian thing is even more ridiculous and strengthens my resolve to point out to christians where their beliefs break down.

As far as hell is concerned there is no eternal torment. 1,000 years in prison, and punishment for the worst, then the lake of fire which is the DOD soul deletion department of Jesus. But not external torment. It is external death and punishment beforehand.

That twisting of Scriptures is from the Catholics and most others. Jesus Christ is not going to torment for eternity someone who rejects him for 30-70 years of sins. God is just, not unjust. Man's understanding of God is limited at best even when they believe and mean well. But false Christianity or hardcore non believers understanding of Jesus is like a 4 year trying to fly a F-18 hornet. Thank God the 4 year old never has a chance of getting that jet in the air otherwise he or she would only crash.

So as you sit here mocking and trying to fly, you would be better off learning more about what you think you know you're talking about first. From my point of view you are all still in pre-school. Really, I'm not trying to make you angry, but thats the truth. Thank God you don't have to be smart to make it to heaven.

However, if someone were to use numerology to figure out their future, etc. in a non-Christian setting, you would probably condemn the practice. Yet, you are reading into the biblical text all sorts of interpretations based on numerology. I suggest that if you want to see what's in the Bible, actually read it, rather than reading all kinds of nonsense into it.

As far as hell is concerned, the concept is completely imaginary. It's not real. Nobody will go there.

Who twists the scriptures again? Hint: It's not atheists. The bible is easily recognizable as a complete work of fiction. It's sad that people spend so much of their lives trying to figure out what a fictional character is going to do. Hint: He won't do anything, because he's fictional.

Who's trying to fly? There's nothing to know beyond the fact that some people don't like living in the real world, so they mock up huge fantasy worlds, with events that are all going to happen in some other plane of existence, after everybody's dead. What more is there to understand? I don't care about what you think is happening right now with the anti-christ, or whether god and jesus are training righteous demons in the garage, away from Satan's prying eyes, because none of it is real. If that means that I'm in preschool as far as your sick little imaginary world scenarios are concerned, I don't particularly care.

And you're right you don't have to be smart to get to heaven; you have to be pretty stupid to think you'll ever get there.
