Its a fair point, but I was thinking of population and economy size for integrating new migrants.

If Israel was to say we are over-crowded, we can't accept any new migrants including refugees, then geographic size would be an issue.

That is not Israel's position, Israel is very keen to get immigrants, but only if they fit a certain ethnic profile. Hence it has an ethnically based immigration policy.

All of which is a bit beside the point, does the International Community having to bankroll Gaza represent an indirect subsidy and if Israel was required to pick up the tab, perhaps that might provide the incentive to work to a solution to normalise Gaza so it can move to being more self-supporting.

Why should Israel pick up the tab? Gaza and its leadership a belligerent entity. How about the Arabs pick up the tab for their bretheren since they put them into this position in the first place with the incitement of a number of failed wars to destroy Israel.

Gaza and its residents had a stable economy up until the point where Hamas garnered enough power, siphoned off humanitarian aid/supplies from its populace, and held its population hostage via their pursuit of terrorist activities. There would be no enforcement of retorsion if this belligerency didn't exist and if Hamas took advantage of the opportunities given, the latest of them was when Israel unilaterally pulled out of Gaza and provided means to continue the agricultural output that gave Gaza the brunt of its economic support.

Remind Americans about the attack on the USS Liberty.

Stop supporting Israel in the UN with American vetoes on anti-Israel resolutions.

Cut all economic and military support for Israel.

Start a international campaign to isolate Israel similar to the one organized against Iran.

Another difference is that New Zealand expects and wants these refugees to become citizens and the majority of them will. We do not see it as an unfortunate concession made for political reasons.
