As a skeptic, getting to be older, seen climate around the world during life, and relying on the weather report for my very life on a regular basis, I'd say that the weather man today has a tough job.
Here in Alaska, things are definately different than 30 years ago. I really can't say that it's "warmer".
True, I don't seem to see the near -30 below here at the house anymore. And we've had some winters recently where we didn't even get below zero. But we get our -20 regularly. The same weeks-long spells.
No problem.
True, some summers recently we don't get non-stop rain. And recently we've been getting more lightning and thunderstorms than before.
But there are no more hot, hot days, either. I've seen as many hot, hot summer days in 1976 as recently.
The wind patterns haven't changed. Nor has the tide. The animal cycles and human economic & immigration pattern haven't changed.
And I'll be prepared for the -30 this winter as I am every winter.
I think this "global warming" hoopla might be the first major ideological setback for "science".
It might have been ideological BS.
We'll see......................
