Our thread expert likes to play, just not get his hands too dirty.

Especially when outplayed by mythologyists.

Hope you picked that up tusenfem, flux tubes are full of magnetic flux unless of course they are empty flux that contain no magnetic flux.

But they do contain PLASMA. Not quasi neutral either.

Learn to read, FFS. Stop making crap up.

Flux tubes at comets too jd116, can’t believe can you.

All a bit much.

Can contain plasma.... :sdl:

You crack me up, Along with ol super duper space plasma physicist. :p

Says the unqualified mythologist who cannot even understand what he reads, and believes in scientific impossibilities! Irony, much? You haven't got a clue what you are talking about. That is why you fall for neo-Velikovskian crap that only exists on crackpot youtube channels and websites. That rivals flat earth for stupidity and scientific impossibility.

There is no one in your cult with a clue about plasma physics.

Especially when outplayed by mythologyists.

Lol! Where did that happen? Your impossible woo does not even exist in the scientific literature. You have no plasma physicists. You have nobody with a clue about plasma physics. Or any other type of physics. You are on the same level as flat earth and creationism.
Leave science to those that understand it. You stick to the day job, and figuring out how Earth was orbiting Saturn recently!

We can now call plasma power cables their correct terminology

Birkeland Currents in honour of the bloke.

Seems the bit we are now adding is the acknowledgment by the mainstream they contain nested current of different polarity.

Just like earths plasmasphere a comets the sun and the plasmoids at galactic centres.

Fed by by power cables, Birkeland currents.

There are no Birkeland currents coming from or to the Sun, and nobody sane is claiming that they are. Alfven told you why that is impossible. And you can't seem to show where he was wrong.

Dear God! How could anyone conclude that from what I wrote, and what is in the conference abstract?

I said, for the hard of reading, that the magnetic flux tubes may or may not contain plasma. They always contain magnetic flux, otherwise they would not be called 'magnetic flux tubes'!

The returning tubes are depleted of PLASMA not magnetic flux! SMH!

Here is the full paper that came from the conference abstract;

Transport of magnetic flux and mass in Saturn’s inner magnetosphere
Lai, H. R. et al (2016)
https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/2016JA022436

And here is what they say;

Lai said:
The rapidly rotating planets, Saturn and Jupiter, both with plasma sources internal to their magnetosphere, have many similarities in their magnetospheric dynamics. At Saturn, water-group neutrals are ionized after being released from the plume of Enceladus at 4 RS, forming a plasma source of typical strength 12–250 kg/s [Bagenal and Delamere, 2011, and references therein]. This plasma is then accelerated to subcorotation by its magnetic connection to the ionosphere, convects outward, and is shed to the solar wind ultimately. In this plasma transfer process, the magnetic flux also convects outward. To conserve the total magnetic flux imposed on the magnetosphere by the planet’s internal dynamo, the outward-convected magnetic flux has to return to the inner magnetosphere at exactly the same average rate.

In other words, the additional plasma ultimately provided by the water jets of Enceladus, has to be gotten rid of to the solar wind. However, the magnetic flux has to remain the same within the magnetosphere. So, how does this happen?

Lai said:
Therefore, reconnection is the mechanism shedding the cold plasma sourced by Enceladus and generating the returning magnetic flux

So not just empty and full, tusenfem?

Why don't you read the paper? It is perfectly clear. If Tusenfem needs to translate it into EU speak for you, why are you even here? Surely, anyone that thinks they know more than a professional plasma physicist should be able to understand it, without asking for it to be translated into terms unqualified mythologists can understand?

So you understand it.

Always has been.

The expert here requires this NOT to be understood.

I have envisioned it.

Where is your return or earth?

Power cable into the poles of the sun... pretty simple but some hat more accurate than internal fusion.

We need to translate mainstream speak to standard plasma physics speak.

Current driven instabilities....

Mainstream speak for them is “surprise”, “mystery”.... etc etc...:rolleyes:

Plasma is not a gas part of the thread ring a bell?

Birkeland currents with the electrons embedded in the observed ion currents!

Can you handle it?

Want to try that again? In English this time?

The expert here is continually being told by a non-expert here, who seems to struggle with even the basics, that he's got it all wrong! Then, when he does explain it, you are complaining that it is too complex to understand! Lol. Guess what? Plasma physics is bloody complicated. It pays to be qualified to understand the more complex aspects. Getting a grip on the basics should not take more than a year or so of reading textbooks aimed at undergrads, and then looking at relevant papers.
Much of it will still be above your head, but if you don't want to qualify in the subject formally, then that is the best you can hope for - to grasp the basics, and to understand enough, even without the maths, to grasp what a paper is saying.
It seems to me that you have been engaged in this anti-plasma physics tirade for far longer than I have had an interest in the subject, and yet I seem to have far less trouble comprehending the relevant concepts and papers. Why is that? My guess? Because you listen to unqualified crackpots like Scott, whilst I listen to, and read, what is said by real plasma physicists.

I think I started wanted to learn a bit more about the subject ~ 6 years ago, having encountered the EU mythologists. Here is what I have read, either partially or fully, just based on what I have downloaded. Which is a fraction of what I have read in total;

Boris V. Somov (with whom I have corresponded);

PLASMA ASTROPHYSICS, PART I
Fundamentals and Practice

PLASMA ASTROPHYSICS, PART II

I think he may have sent me at least one of those in PDF format.

And that is just the plasma physics related stuff!

(Actually, I hadn't expected that list to be quite sol long!)

And even having read all that, and gotten a reasonable understanding of the basics, I know **** compared to a real plasma physicist, like Tusenfem. And would never claim otherwise.
However, I know enough to know that nobody associated with EU, including Scott, has got the foggiest clue about the subject, and can easily spot their schoolboy level errors.

Quite why you (and Scott, for that matter) seem to think you know more about plasma physics than real plasma physicists, is a question best answered by Messrs. Dunning and Kruger.

More idiotic gibberish. You don't know any plasma physics. As you keep proving.

This means that magnetic field of different directions will be transported towards the comet, and will result into so-called “nested draping.”

Let’s see what the expert says in relation too these and switchbacks...

Grab ya popcorn.

Grab ya popcorn.

Why? You'll only tell him he's a mainstream lackey, and that your degree in wooistry from the Uri Geller Institute of Spoon Bending, means that you understand plasma physics better than plasma physicists!
