I also believe that the War in Ukraine has exceeded the 48 hour ending that was guaranteed, so maybe we should just assume that whatever Trump guarantees, the opposite will predictably happen? We could start with "MAGA".
See also general inflation which surprised everybody by checking in at 0.5% for the month of January, higher than the 0.3% predicted (keep in mind these are monthly rates; 0.5% monthly would equate to a little over 6% annually).

Remember the Trumpers are rooting for inflation to get to 140% just like Argentina.
If you have debts and your income more or less keeps pace with inflation then happy days - rather like if you had a mortgage in the UK in the 70s

Trump's going to be looking at having this CPI thing dismantled by Musk any day now, that'll fix inflation once and for all...

Yesterday I bought a dozen extra large eggs at Krogers for $3.99. What did I pay 2 weeks ago? Damfino. Not much more or less, probably. I only cook egg dishes (fritatta or casserole or such) at long intervals, so the current outcry only sounds dimly in my ears.

Maybe Michigan is free of bird flu? Outrageous! Somebody alert Reichsmarschal Musk! He must send deadly virus contrails over that nest of Damn Old Crats and restore justice at once!

Paid $8.49CA for 18 today = 5.97US. I suspect Trump just wants us so he can claim he actually lowered the price of eggs

Trump didn't. He would not even know where to start, and even now has no clue what his subordinates are planning or doing. But Project 2025 most certainly did, from years back.
It's very easy to destroy, doesn't even need a coherent plan. Which is lucky, given the Project 2025 people couldn't plan a piss up in a brewery.

How Much Are New Yorkers Willing to Pay for Eggs? Josh Johnson Investigates (The Daily Show on YouTube, Feb 14, 2025 - 4:21 min.)
Josh Johnson asks New Yorkers how they're dealing with eggflation and tries to get in on the egg grift.
Interesting YT comments.
Eggs are $1 a dozen in Russia and 0.90 in Pakistan. €2 in Germany. £2.50 in the UK. In Korea (I assume it's South!), it's 30 eggs for under $4.
And pawnshops in NYC still aren't interested in eggs, apparently.

I heard on cbc radio this week that the structure of Canada's egg farming makes our market less vulnerable to bird flu outbreaks. Apparently the average egg operation here has about 25,000 birds so having to cull one of those will have little impact on the overall market. In the US, 1 million+ bird farms are very common and having to shut down one of those has a more significant regional effect.

Not turkey eggs!
The United States will import 15,000 tons of eggs from Turkey due to the rapid outbreak of bird flu in the country (Habler.com, Feb 14, 2025)
The United States has made a preliminary agreement to purchase 15,000 tons of eggs from Turkey due to the supply shortage caused by the avian influenza outbreak. It has been reported that the export will not affect domestic market prices.

Eggs from Turkey?
No thanks🤮
In 2023, the FDA destroyed 127.62 tonnes of substandard eggs from Turkey.
Considering the US may not have an FDA anymore, don’t take any chances.
