I hear won't have to worry about egg prices soon. There will be a new food product on the shelves soon.
It's sort of a green biscuit.

On a totally unrelated topic, you won't have to worry about your loved ones when the pass, the government will take care of them.

A dozen large store-brand eggs at Market Basket today was $5.99. Strangely, I was able to get a dozen name-brand large eggs for $3.99. It's only the store-brand eggs that are going up. Also, there was no store-brand chicken except for drumsticks. It's not politics, people, it's bird flu!

$6.99 for the house brand large at Market Basket. However, Hillandale Farms medium eggs were $2.99, so bought those instead.
Up $1.00 since Jan 22.

No great recipes, I just microwaveable. Crack into a ramikin and nuke 30 sec or so. Serve on toast.
Or stir up and mix in bacon, onions, peppers, cheese, or whatever.

Another thing about eggs: Every time I plan to make an omelet, when I crack the shells, the yolks are intact. When I want what I call "sunny side up," about half the time one of the yolks is broken, so I end up with an omelet anyway.

That's kind of one of those "even when it's bad it's good" type of deals. I love either of those things, but I get where you're coming from. I wanted steak and runny yolk eggs this last Sunday and for some reason I couldn't get an intact yolk. So I just had regular eggs, which was still pretty good.

That is very strange - I can think of anytime when I've cracked open a raw egg and had a broken yolk. Have I been exceptionally lucky all my life? If so why couldn't my exceptional luck have been about lottery tickets.

Good cracking technique?

The freshness test can help spot dodgy eggs. Put the whole egg in a jar of water, or similar. If it lies on its side at the bottom it's fresh. If it stands on end at the bottom it's ok but not the freshest. If it floats it might be best to chuck it out.

I spoke to my brother who is currently vacationing in Florida. He went to 4 stores and none had any eggs on the shelves.

That was only a side point. He called to let me know they are ending their vacation a week early and coming home. Some wackadoo MAGA, seeing their Canadian plates started harassing them in a parking lot. They are an interracial couple with his wife being of Guyanese descent, and she doesn't feel safe there after that episode.

Not to victim blame but they went to Florida. Never go to Florida. That place is a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ loony bin on the best of days. I have gone out of my way to avoid tech conferences if they're in Florida. I actually got asked to go "Zero Trust" in Orlando in about a week and turned it down. In fact, everyone in my office turned it down.
