Merged [Ed] Alex Jones is hyping! (Sheen/Obama Interview)

Can I formally nominate them all for the first Mass Group Stundie Award? No voting, no competition, just a straight up acknowledgment of one of the largest mass face-plantings of modern times?

Knock yourself out. Trying to find individually good ones is hard considering the overwhelming mass of idiocy they present.

no, but Hannity and O'Reilly can bring attention to how crooked and deceitful Jones is..and how gullible and pathetic the Truthers are.

this is a win-win for us all.

So you want 2 non-credible people to out another non-credible person. How does that work?

Seconded.

Yeah, but why do you single out those two as good candidates to bring attention to Jones?

They've demonstrated remarkable dishonesty in the past and continue to do so with the current health-care debate. On top of that, neither one of them are journalists - and as such don't seem to feel the need to follow any sort of ethics.

Plus, InfoWars for all of their bluster, are still a "fringe" group if you could even call it that much. As such, they won't really elicit any kind of mainstream journalistic attention unless something really big happens - and with these ****sticks that usually means violence - which I hope against all hope never happens. I think the most this will see is some blogosphere rotation and perhaps the Huffington Post will trip to it - maybe even Michelle Malkin. I'm sure Brainster's already hot on it as well.

From the reaction around here (four other threads on the topic), I'd say Ol' Alex has done himself far more damage than he could've imagined.

His diehard (or is that die 'tard) fan base will believe his spin, but there are all sorts of different sub-elements in the TM who are not taking this kindly. They realize that the first interview was posted without a disclaimer and they realize that he turned off the comments at just about the three hour mark, when apparently they were getting ripped a new posterior portal.

Sheen doesn't give a crap. He'll blow it off as a goofy prank that got some attention, based on the old "There's no such thing as bad publicity" saw. But the minions? The ones who left Dylan's little tree fort to go hang out and listen to Alex because he was "big time"? They ain't happy, believe me! They fell for Dylan's constant "big announcements coming soon" once too often, and this must seem like Deja Vu All Over Again (or is that Deja Vu All Over Again Final Cut).

I'm hoping some crap hollywood gosip show picks this up and make fun of Sheen, so he becomes the butt of celebrity jokes.

I have heard some people on this thread say that Alex Jones created this whole thing to trick the media into thinking that Charlie Sheen really met with Obama. Is that just speculation, or did Jones really say that, and where?

I recall hearing him say it on his radio show

He says he did it so that it would get a lot of attention because "that's how public relations works". He also says that he is the guy who has single handedly spearheaded activism for years, he's the guy who said on September 11, 2001 that the "truth movement" needed to exist, and a whole bunch of other crap.

He also says he did it "to get the president's attention" and to get "neocons and others to 'take the bait," "to make it that much bigger a story," etc.

He also says it was a huge success.

In other words, it's just another load of this snake oil salesman's usual BS but with more serious backpedaling than he usually has to do.

ETA: Here's where he tried to salvage this particular train wreck initially (although I have no doubt that he will make several more excuses and several inconsistent "explanations" later:

This is so far from a success as to be on the other side of the galaxy. While the faithful were high fiving themselves, not a single press service or news channel picked it up.
And they let it get so out of control so quickly that even the usually suspect bloggers didn't get to it, so will now all report it as a con job instead of legitimate news.

Total. And. Ultimate. Fail.

The plan was to actually LIE to the Mainstream Media, in the hopes that they would pick up the story, and then reveal to the media that it was all a lie?
Even if he'd said that, the professional media would've outted it in a heartbeat. Just think about it; Barrack Obama making time for Charlie Sheen of all people? Does not compute!

That's what blows me away. If that was indeed his plan, it was mind-bogglingly retarded. Short of the President himself and his entourage, and Jones and Sheen, there aren't many other groups that would be better equipped to reveal this farce than the mainstream media.

ETA: Who blew the lid off of this conspiracy, anyway? If anything, this should prove to truthers how damn hard it is to keep a secret, even when very, very few people are involved.

Might make for a hilarious episode of Two and a Half Men...

I can see it now: Charlie tells his dorky brother that he met the President at a swingers club and that he nailed the First Lady. The dorky brother buys it and spends half the show in awe of his amazing Bro' until the big fat cleaning woman reveals that Charlie was so drunk, he didn't realise it was actually her neighbor Leon and his ugly retarded wife ... Hilarity, as they say, ensues...

He's just a hypocrite that has to sink to the level of the mythical NWO in order to get through to the public. This is PROOF POSITIVE that he uses brainwashing and other types of manipulation to facilitate his "information war".

All is fair in love and info war.

If his plan was to trick the media then that is pathetic, because he revealed it as a fake two hours or whatever later, and the media hadn't noticed it. Now his followers are mad at him, and if the media notices they are just going to turn Charlie Sheen into a laughingstock for writing fantasy stories about Obama.

I'm glad someone caught those comments before they were washed down the bit bucket...

Agent Jones has earned his paycheck this week, yessiree!

I don't think he was planning on revealing it was fake for a lot longer than that... his audience was probably getting a little too carried away with it though that he felt he needed to let the cat out of the bag... and disable comments IMMEDIATELY AFTER... I LOVE that he left the last comment tho:

------omg... it's gone...

He is DEFINITELY censoring his comments... ****, I should screenshotted it :( Maybe it's still on my screen at work *HOPES*

Here's something Alex and Charlie didn't factor in: THE MSM ALREADY KNOWS ABOUT ALL THESE CRAZY CTs!! They laugh about them all the time! We are Change is pointless, because the talking heads are already aware of the main conspiracies surrounding 9/11, they KNOW it's bunk and that's why they don't even TOLERATE such treasonous accusations. So this wont do ANYTHING.

The only people Alex fooled were his fans.

Fantastic. Now we know the level of corruption – truly know. Charlie is the man! Can’t do anything about this one trolls! The article speaks for itself.

Yes, yes the article does speak for itself.

those comments are Pure Gold. Good work on saving them before they get deleted.
