Denying such an interview in person is an easy way out for Obama- pessures of office etc. Denying a discussion with some senior government people will not be so easy. Denying an interview altogether may be impossible.

He was mentioned 89 times a second from 9/11 on. I don't imagine that yu can back up the 'estimated' 89 times either. When i checked it ut I found about four mentions pre-9/11 in the history of the media.

PS.I mean Al-Quaeda of course, not Bon Laden himself.

A search of the NY Times archive from August 28, 1998 to September 10, 2001 for the expression "Al Qaeda" returns 86 hits. Leaving off the quotation marks returns 87 hits.

So of course now you're going to admit that you were completely wrong and apologize to BigAl, right?

This Charlie Sheen thing got a mention on Australian TV this morning. The Today Show's segment on what's making news had a short snippet of Charlie talking crap and then the presenter and a journalist laughed at him a bit and commented about how shameful it was that he should be trivialising such a tragic event. I'm not normally a fan of Channel 9, but they did good today.

They also had a bit of a chuckle over Rosie O'Donnell's "Fire can't melt steel" stupidity.

Bush would never have dared risk challenging a Truther in court on a 9/11 matter. Who knows what might have come out under cross-examination or maybe an inconvenient subpoena ? No, Truthers were able to call the POTUS a murderer in print in those days with no fear of (legal) repercussions.

Obama is suppsedly a clean new page. I think that falsely ascribing words and deeds to the POTUS would probably be actionable in the courts. Not that it will happen for the same easons as before, especially with a top celebrity involved as the defendent. Wanna bet ?

So, then, according to you, it would go something like this:

1) Obama sues Jones and Sheen for attributing to him an interview that never happened.

2) Jones and Sheen raise the defense "Well, yes, the interview never happened, but if you had been interviewed by Sheen that's what you would have said".

3) Obama is subpoenaed and cross-examined to determine what he would have said in response to the questions that Sheen never actually asked him.

They were all "oh sure, mock the celebrity instead of dealing with the real issues he brought up. You're a shill. You call yourself a journalist? You blah blah blah" stuff we see on every youtube comment area.

So, then, regardless of what happens in response to a 9/11 related hoax, the media should seriously deal with the issues raised by the hoax? What an interesting win-win situation the Truthers have set up in their own minds.

He and his brother are affable, likable, and fairly talented.
So was Ed Asner.
So, perhaps, is that Daniel whatsisface guy (I don't get that show over here and haven't seen him in anything else).

That's a good point. Not to defend Sheen, obviously, but I find comments like this...

...to be borderline ad hominem, at best. "Why should anyone listen to what Sheen says? He's just a crappy actor."

There's also an obvious flaw in the position of "I think he sucks as an actor, so anyone who doesn't is just 'pretending' for secondary reasons."

All my memories of Sheen go back to Men At Work, Ferris Bueller and Hot Shots Part Deux. I wasn't even aware he was still acting. But he's HUGE apparently, enough so to justify AJ calling this "the biggest thing he's ever done". The funny thing about that is AJ has just given himself a huge insult regarding everything he's done in the past.

Reading Sheen's interview was like reading an awkward, self-aggrandizing movie script. Obama, despite his objections, being a big fan of Charlie's show and impressed by how prepared, organized and focused he is.

Apologists are saying the deception was worth it, because it created hype raising awareness about false-flag-terrorism and "it worked". Hilariously though, the few news stories it resulted in have not confused it for anything other than a fake interview. So the hoax/deception had no effect other than confusing AJ's own fans. I see no reason the story wouldn't have gotten about the same amount of attention with the disclaimer on the top right away.
