Drag Shows!!

Exactly. What does being made up like little sex dolls and vying to be judged the 'prettiest' do to the thinking of little pre-pubescent girls about their worth? I'd rather have taken my daughter to a drag queen story hour than a child 'beauty' pageant.

Not here to defend these pageants, but the girls are not sexualized. The audience is other moms, not men.

Um, yes. Just put the question in your search engine.

Total cop out and lazy arguing. "google it" insulates you from being called out for an example that doesn't fit your argument.

You are arguing this--present examples that you believe fit your argument.

For example, the image you posted was at a private brunch and the family chose to bring the girl and to encourage her to interact. This is not someone seeking out children, especially not the boogeyman of lack of parental control.

I wouldn't say that drag shows are the cause of rapid onset gender dysphoria; that's a bit of a stretch. But comparing drags shows of the past - which were adults only - with this predator-like insistence to sexually gyrate in front of kids seems disingenuious. Why would an adult want to do that in front of children?

I dunno.... how many open for all ages drag events have sexual gyrations? I'm going to go with likely, very very few parents bring their kids to these types of shows whether or not its legal to do so*. Or are you trying to conflate a person in drag reading with a sexually charged drag show?

How many sporting events open to all ages have cheerleaders or dancers doing sexual gyrations?

*ETA: and its fine IMO to ban any such events for viewing by children so long as its done equally. If the stuff done on stage by a transwoman is too sexual, then its also too sexual if done by a (non-trans)woman.

First of all, I don’t think there is anything wrong with sex. I don't think we should sexualize children. But I also don't think we should hide it either. I'm a big believer in being as open as you can to your children about everything, including sex.

LOL, why don't they want to read in nursing homes?

Umm...probably because adults can read?
You're just repeating the current favorite propaganda being spread:

How come drag queens never want to read to adults in old age homes?

Why do drag queens not want to read to people living in nursing homes? (media.patriots.win)

"why aren’t drag queens fighting so hard to entertain at a nursing home, air force base, or hospital? They want to indoctrinate kids, thats why."

In fact, drag queens DO go to nursing homes:

Um, yes. Just put the question in your search engine.

I'm not doing you work for you. You're the one making the claim.

Weird how those horrible conservatives didn't care until groomers went after the children.

LOL! Weird how these drag queens are only now going after children! This is just the latest fear mongering conservatives are serving up to the bigoted, ignorant, and none too bright among us. When this dies down...and it will...they'll just move on to another targeted group they can feed to them.

Bwaaaaahaaaahaaaaahaaaa! THESE aren't sexualizing little girls?

Really? Men aren't in the audience?
Then what are these in the audience at the pageant where the little girl pictured above dressed as Dolly Parton?

This video is succinct and deadly.
You could think about drag shows for children as fuel for the cult while listening to what Stella O'Malley says with profound experience in the field.

https://youtu.be/Txe4u-_vgSk
 Oh good grief, where to start with this drivel.....
Unlike you I know O'Malley and her stream of unsupported nonsense, leavened with outright lies and seasoned with bigotry.

Stella O’Malley is a conservative gender critical therapist from Ireland and anti-transgender extremist. Hardly an unbiased clinician. BTW, her position is the exact opposite of the American Psychological Association.
She's also been condemned by medical professionals here. Not least for her notoriously biased and selective media presentations.

This is hysterical, nonsensical, rubbish.

There was no sexualisation of children in that picture.

This is what a totally legal sexualisation of children looks like:
https://www.universalroyalty.com/beauty-pageant-photos.html

In fairness, the beauty pageant seemed completely un-sexual, unless the one kid in a two piece got your motor running. Did nothing for me.

The pic shown had a guy in translucent panties (full crack in view); and a young child stuffing a dollar in them. That's.....not cool. And color me prudish for thinking so.

Can we agree that this is just not okay?

This is a cisgender woman from a burlesque show from a few years back. One of DeSantis' flunkies likely cropped out the context and used the image to smear drag queens because they couldn't actually find any real images that was objectionable.

Queer legal analyst Alejandra Caraballo, a Harvard Law faculty member with bylines in Slate, Teen Vogue and Wired, spotted the press secretary’s lie almost instantly. Pushaw tweeted the photo yesterday at 5:13 pm eastern time. Caraballo debunked her at 5:31:

This was pulled from a widely circulated nazi meme 3 years ago of a facebook post from burlesque dancer who is a cis woman. This was not drag, nor did it happen in dallas. Care to comment why you’re resharing nazi disinformation and propaganda?

Caraballo included a screenshot of the Facebook meme as evidence. I found the original meme this morning, independently, with little difficulty, using Google photo search functions, which I can only imagine is how Pushaw found it.

Time to send your transdar in for calibration, that's a cis woman homie

Didn't do anything for me either. But it definitely sexualized children.

I wouldn't think that would be appropriate if it was a woman either. But I don’t think it would scar a child either. I certainly don't think it leads anywhere.

Perfect!:D. It just goes to show how far and dishonest people will go to push an agenda.

My counter evidence is that drag shows have been going on, in one form or another, for at least 5 centuries. So why is it just in the last decade or so that transgenderism in western culture has become popular? Why did drag shows not lead to the popularization of youth transgenderism in 1920's Germany for example? Why was there no moral panic when a girl on TV played a boy (Peter Pan, 1960)? Answer those questions and maybe there is something more to discuss.

Oh come on. "Drag" has not been going on for five centuries. Not all cases of cross dressing are drag. And you certainly shouldn't be including stage actors in eras where FEMALES WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ACT AT ALL in your loosey-goosey definition of drag.

For the most part, instances of actors playing a role almost never count as drag. A female playing Peter Pan is not drag. Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire is not drag.

John Leguizamo playing a drag queen in To Wong Foo might actually count as drag... but in that situation it should be noted that Leguizamo is NOT a drag queen - they were playing the role of a drag queen in a movie.

Drag has nothing to do with transgenderism. With the notable exception of Drag Queen Story Hour being used as a vehicle by which to promote transgenderism to children.

Have you looked through the books being read? Many of them are everyday kids books, no big deal. But many of them are intentionally chosen to normalize sexual orientation and gender identity themes to very young children. There's a nuance in there that gets crossed for me, personally. I would have no problem with books that promote the idea that little Johnny likes to wear frilly dresses and tiaras, and that's okay - because little male children can wear whatever they want and still be little male children. I do have a problem with books that promote the idea that because little Johnny likes to wear frilly dresses and tiaras, it means that Johnny is actually a little female child.

I WANT children and adults to feel free to wear whatever style of clothing they like (with bounds of decency and appropriateness for venue), without judgement, without harassment. I want to decouple sex from the absurd social expectations placed upon us. What I don't want, however, is to instill in children the idea that they get to "choose" what sex they are, or the idea that they have the "wrong body".

 No... as in you think it's just fine for young children to be stuffing dollar bills into the undergarments of a half-naked adult?

I certainly don't look at it necessarily as something horrific. I need more context.
Better than children playing with guns and first shooter video games.
