Drag Shows!!

Stella O’Malley is a conservative gender critical therapist from Ireland and anti-transgender extremist. Hardly an unbiased clinician. BTW, her position is the exact opposite of the American Psychological Association.
Extremist is pejorative, nonsensical.
Do you bring any evidence for your views to be taken seriously? You might have the Association praising drag shows for kids as helping them find their correct gender expression before puberty and discovery of sexual orientation for example.

So is your "extensive homework" watching youtube videos? Are you able to cite something yourself besides pointing to videos?

This video with O'Malley is shorter and specific, citing at the end a real case. I had not seen it before, but is broadly what I imagine an authentic professional to say.
Is it just common sense though?

Before I consider watching that video, can you confirm that this video discusses the link between kids being exposed to drag as all past generations have and something that is bad, whatever that bad is?

I find it amusing that you point to the opinions of one therapist and call that evidence and then dismiss the opinions of the consensus of psychologists. Now that doesn't mean the outlier is incorrect. But as you said, evidence is the key. Where are the papers as opposed to the anecdotal evidence of one Youtuber?

This video is succinct and deadly.
You could think about drag shows for children as fuel for the cult while listening to what Stella O'Malley says with profound experience in the field.

Wtf. All that "serious homework" and this is what you foist?

I'm highly selective about clicking YouTube links. I need a time stamp to relative bits. I'm especially disinclined when the poster has repeatedly been light on facts and heavy on whack-a-mole.

This is the wrong thread. I will post the vast website of meticulously vetted papers on the Trans Women are not Women thread in an hour or so as a public service.

I wondered myself. But how about the rest of my broad dissertation? Anything to see or discuss?

I don't think the definition of 'dissertation' includes long winded rants unsupported by facts or evidence other than youtube videos.

You're still evading answering the question as to why you 'aren't allowed' to post them here.

Just saw your reply. How about you give some evidence backing up your claims., and then maybe we'll have something to discuss? By that, specifically I mean your assertion that drag shows are the cause of youths wanting to transition genders.

My counter evidence is that drag shows have been going on, in one form or another, for at least 5 centuries. So why is it just in the last decade or so that transgenderism in western culture has become popular? Why did drag shows not lead to the popularization of youth transgenderism in 1920's Germany for example? Why was there no moral panic when a girl on TV played a boy (Peter Pan, 1960)? Answer those questions and maybe there is something more to discuss.

I wouldn't say that drag shows are the cause of rapid onset gender dysphoria; that's a bit of a stretch. But comparing drags shows of the past - which were adults only - with this predator-like insistence to sexually gyrate in front of kids seems disingenuious. Why would an adult want to do that in front of children?

How many adults are doing this in front of children in the first place, that you are characterizing it as an "insistence"? I keep hearing about all these sexual gyrating drag shows at students or kids and have heard very few examples, maybe ONE that turned out to be at a college.

Can we agree that this is just not okay?

Are drag queens 'sexually gyrating' while reading a story book to kids in a library? No. So why the uproar over drag queen story hour?

Are people actually bringing their children to drag shows where the queens are sexually gyrating?

If you get down to the basics of this recent anti-drag queen movement, look at who's pushing it: politically conservative politicians who need a 'radical liberal' group to present as a danger (fear works for conservatives) and largely conservative Christians. This isn't about 'the children'; it's about politics and being anti-LGBTQ+.

LOL, why don't they want to read in nursing homes?

Um, yes. Just put the question in your search engine.

Weird how those horrible conservatives didn't care until groomers went after the children.

There was no sexualisation of children in that picture.

This is what a totally legal sexualisation of children looks like:

Exactly. What does being made up like little sex dolls and vying to be judged the 'prettiest' do to the thinking of little pre-pubescent girls about their worth? I'd rather have taken my daughter to a drag queen story hour than a child 'beauty' pageant.
