Drag Shows!!

I think drag shows are stupid. Men dressing as a very cartoonish and exaggerated or even delusional concept of what a woman is or should be. One could call it offensive to women.

Pageantry generally is not my cup of tea, and that includes drag, but that's neither here nor there when you consider whether or not you should support them when being targeted by blood-thirsty bigots and reactionaries.

While I don't find drag shows enjoyable...having been to one and found one to be enough...our personal tastes aren't the issue. I agree with TurkeysGhost that it's a question of whether we have the right to attend them, to decide, as parents, what our children see , and whether we have the right to perform or dress in drag regardless of anyone else's personal opinion on drag. Attending a Trump rally dressed like Uncle Sam on LSD and waving a flag of Trump depicted as a superhero and taking your kid along personally offends me but I give no argument to their right to do it.

I appreciate you are drawn to believe what these people say, as it seems improbable they could all be wrong. But the closest parallel I found in life is the "miscarriage of justice".
I have a phobia for aah so please continue in the trans women are not women thread, as this is a very important discussion.

I see you still will not answer my questions about your English. But, no answer is sometimes an answer.

The best reason that I can think of kids being "confused" is because certain parents want to shelter their children from the mundane realities of the world (people who aren't straight exist) and are getting upset that everyone in their community isn't doing their part to keep up the fiction. It's like a parent getting upset because one of their neighbors doesn't play along about the fantasy of Santa Claus being a real person and the kid catches wise.
If the real world is actively suppressed by parents and the first time a kid ever encounters someone in drag is when they're 16, I would expect them to be pretty confused.

But the onus is on the parents for hiding and denying reality, and keeping children ignorant, not on the person in drag.

That's an opinion, and a valid one. It's different from the claim that drag shows are actively harming children and should be banned.

They are silly. I grant you that. If it's not your cup of tea, don't go to them then. That is your choice. I doubt any one is forcing you to attend. I don't care for Marvel movies so I don’t buy the ticket.

Isn’t FREEDOM wonderful?

I assume he's drunk/stoned a lot. IIRR he's admitted this previously.

I was picturing someone in their eighties but that makes more sense or it could be both.

Fortunately, no one is forcing you to go to one.

Irrelevant.

Why do you think being "forced to go" to drag shows will make kids trans?

Do you think being forced to do something makes someone more receptive to the message?

What drag show/perfomer have you seen that had a message of "become trans"?

This is not about James Joyce. Try to stay on topic.

Check out Sarah Haider for the religious question.

You seem incapable of a direct answer to a direct question. I asked YOU.

I repeat: Can you give us verified examples of schools 'indoctrinating' students about gender identification?

Of course he can't. But...but....

Christina Hoff Sommers!
Camille Paglia!
Blaire White!
Kewey Dee! (I'm not sure of the spelling on the last one).

And doing so via "drag" - which would be the only reason to be raising it in this thread.

Are you as outraged by the indoctrination of children by religious schools who require them to take religion classes and attend religious services?

Then there isn't any language reason for your posts to read like incomprehensible word salads put through a language translator. So what is the reason?

I am continually suggesting drag shows can never be ruled out as pathways to EVIL

Yeah, I choose not to go. I did use to go to burlesque shows with often nude performances, but I would never expose a child to that. Kids are confused enough as it is.
