Do fundamentalist Mormans abuse children?

Ha, I guess I am just missing some of the things in the news. I can't even find the name of the girl who was supposedly abused.

Nor can I find any news about when they arrested the guy in Arizona for abusing her. But I guess he is too busy zipping back and forth between Texas and Arizona? Maybe they can't catch him.

I read somewhere they had an informant in there I guess watching all of this abuse for 4 years or so. But haven't heard much from that.

This still seems like a very strange case to me, and I have still not seen much evidence come out on this case. Not sure how this is going to play out.

But with all of the things that are being said, I assume that massive numbers of arrests are inevitable.

You know how much that sounds like the kind of broad, sweeping, statement that a religious fundementalist would say?
One of the problems I have with the "New Atheism" is that some of it's self proclaimed proponents are a bigoted and close minded as the religious fanatics they hate.

Evidence?

:eye-poppi :jaw-dropp

Never thought I'd see that on this site. Bravo.

New Atheism? Hate? What's new about atheism, except that it tends not to end at the burning stake these days?

As to hate, well some comments may sometimes sound unduly harsh, but the bottom line is still IMHO, that teaching children pie in the sky fantasy is wrong, even as we recognize it is inherent in the human condition.

You are still not watching the news are you? Perhaps you don't believe it?

I do really have strong doubts as to whether the Barlow guy was even in the state.

And do have a belief that the most harm done, will probably be a result of Texas CPS taking all the children away, who "appeared to be in good health, but some with chicken pox'. And anyone who knows anything about Texas CPS and some of their tainted history, should be concerned any time this organization gets involved in anything.

Still think it interesting that they do not even know who the accuser is yet. Where did she call from? Are there any records of that? Or is there even a true accuser? If not, I am sure they will be able to come up with one, one way or another before long.

And yes, you do have to be careful in evaluating events based upon what is seen in the "news" or claimed by prosecutors in court documents. I would have thought we would have learned that lesson by now.

I really am not that surprised at the religious compound, polygamy claims, etc. Those things are all over the U. S. and the religious views are well known.

But yes, I am very skeptical of the whole situation, and it should be interesting to see how it plays out.

You do waffle on and on about trivia, without the slightest mention of where you stand on the issue of forced marriage, rape of minors and the like. One has to conclude that you don't care, or you don't mind pedophilia as long as it's excused by a god.

Sick.

Suspect questioned and released.

ELDORADO, Texas (CNN) -- Texas Rangers on Saturday met with -- but did not arrest -- the man accused by a teenage girl of physically and sexually abusing her at a polygamist compound.

Dale Evans Barlow leaves after being questioned by Texas Rangers in St. George, Utah, Saturday.

Arizona probation officials said the meeting with Dale Evans Barlow, 50, happened just across the Arizona state line in St. George, Utah.

"The Texas Rangers met with him. He was allowed to go, and no arrest was made," said Friend Walker, director of the Mojave County, Arizona, probation office.

Barlow's attorney, Bruce Griffen, said the meeting was voluntary.

He said he and Barlow are working to gather evidence that his client could not have been in Texas when the crimes are said to have happened.

I don't think it's a religious thing. Nightwind consistently defends child molestation in various contexts.

I think a DNA test on the 16 year olds 4 children will give conclusive proof of at least one person's wherabouts.

Well, then, I hope that he is forced to submit to sex acts he finds repulsive in order to understand exactly how it might feel. I hear prison is a good place where some people learn what it's like to be sexually victimized. I am eager for these teen impregnators to understand exactly what is wrong with what they are doing. I am sure their cell mates might be glad to oblige.

Well, I am just saying that all of these families lives should not have been disrupted because of one unsubstantiated claim of child abuse.

Time after time we have seen lives destroyed because of authorities over reacting or reacting inappropriately to situations.

Now, if some ignorant MORON, thinks that is defending child abuse so be it. These types are the very ones who would have burned you as a witch, and who have never met a child who wasn't abused.

I am out of this thread. Good luck, to those that have some sense.

Time after time we hear you make moronic statements on serious issues. Goodbye.

One teenager calls and this is how they react??? One teenager calls in New York City and child services doesn't show up for a month.

Something else was going on here. I don't trust the government in these situations at all. Last time they tried to save the children in a Texas compound, they burned them to death.

Sort of... that was a DEMOCRAT fascist government: Bill Clinton's "Justice" Department headed up by Janet Reno in cahoots with the ever-power hungry BATF, and Ann Richards in cahoots with her Democrat-hack headed DPS of Texas. Democrat/Fascists, Democrat/Fascists, Democrat/Fascists. That's who burned up the women and kids at Waco.
