As the parent of a disabled child I find this incredibly offensive.

As a human being I find it offensive. Still, always nice to see Christian principles in action. "Lovy thy neighbour," "judge not lest ye be judged," etc. It's almost as if the atheists know more about their religion than they do.

ETA: the worst thing about it is that it once again demonstrates how certain people find it totally OK that God punishes innocents for the acts of others. Okay, let's assume for the sake of the argument that this is true. How does it reflect on God, who supposedly loves children so much? Imagine telling a kid she's got cerebral palsy because her mummy did something bad because she was born. It's like the slaughter of the first-born children of Egypt in reprise.

Yahweh seems to have mixed feelings about children and no qualms about punishing them for the sins of their forefathers.

"You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the fathers' sins into the laps of their children after them. O great and powerful God, whose name is the Lord Almighty." - Jer 32:18

Putting aside the utter repulsiveness of Bob's statement, where on earth would he be getting the evidence to support this piece of offal? Are women in the States required to disclose whether they've had a prior abortion as they check into the maternity ward? Do the medical staff quiz the new Mother of a handicapped infant as to whether she has previously had an abortion? Or is he just shooting this out his backside to see who shows up to help him wipe?

I can perfectly well see a mother with "undesirable" DNA have an abortion because she knows she or the kid's father has a disposition for some syndrome or whatever. Then abortion laws are tightened, abortion is not a viable option, and child two comes out with some sort of defect.

Why should the insanity this person manifests be any more offensive?

But Jessica Honke, director of public policy for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, said the only state funding Planned Parenthood receives is from Medicaid reimbursements. That amount was about $35,000 in the 2009 fiscal year, according to the Department of Medical Assistance Services.

So he is lying AND he is seeking to prevent women in poor financial situations from a choice open to other women. I bet he is also against funding for contraceptives and child care help for the poor. If he seeks to restrict funding for PP, he better be prepared to increase funding child care...because they will need it.


I also await Palin's rebuke.

He's an elected official, responsible for making public policy. If it's not offensive, then at least it could be considered a bad thing to have such a disordered person in the position to affect people's lives through the power of the state.
