Dirty campaign ads 2012

oh nice job Ron Paul, finally you made it, you convinced me that you are a bigoted racist.

I still believe that it was a RP supporter who did the job on Huntsman. Small-cell operatives with no known ties to RP, but RP supporters none the less.

So, here's another one in the works. This one is not a 30-second or 1-minute spot but a long form hatchet job on Mitt Romney by a Gingrich-backing SuperPAC.

Newt’s Friend Antes Up

And here's what part of that $5 million bought:
The Boffo Awfulness

(Normal link here). This is just a trailer for it, but you get the idea.

Amazing. Wonder if it will still be used once Romney gets the nomination? Looks like the PAC used a lot of 99% sentiment in the ad.

All the candidates should be able to claim that they're running 100% clean campaigns since there is no shortage of 3rd parties to do the dirty work for them.

How do you know that Huntsman was not behind this ad?
You can't know it for absolute certainty, but logically, it would be foolish. Though it makes Ron Paul's supporters look bad, it also will hurt Huntsman with a certain segment of the population. Besides, Kamakazi's were Japanese, not Chinese.

Very true!

With all of the well funded and legally seperated PACs out there, then there is plenty of negative things out there that the candidate himself can personally disavow.

Ugh!

I love how in a world where China is becoming the dominant economy, some people think that having real-world experience working with them is a weakness for a POTUS candidate. Personally, I think that his experience as ambassador to China is Huntsman's greatest strength in this election.

Bush the Greater had a LOT of experience with China, and that was an important qualification. The concept that this would now be a deficit says more about the surviving GOP base than anything they believe about gays or evolution.

If it came down to him or Obama, I would probably still choose Obama (seeing as I am left of center), but the concept that his experience with China is a detriment and is used to question his loyalty to America is just surreal. I agree that it speaks very poorly of whoever made that attack ad.

I'd likely make the same choice, but it would be good to HAVE a viable alternative to make me actually have to think about the matter.

That Huntsman can speak Chinese and has adopted a daughter from China is a positive thing for him.

That he doesn't believe in a bunch of right-wing religious nonsense or CTs is a good thing.

However, if I had to choose between him and Romney, I'd pick Romney based primarily on their economic proposals. Romney's still would shift the tax burden downward, but to a much less extent than Huntsman's. In fact, based on their published economic proposals alone, I would consider Romney to be the more sane (or at least less insane) of the two. [ETA: And lest anyone is concerned about Romney basing public policy decisions on the edicts of his Mormon puppet masters, we do have his public record of not doing anything like that. It's not a reasonable fear.]

Back to the topic of SuperPAC ads. . .

I wonder how long it will be until we start seeing questions of collusion between the official candidate's campaign and these outside entities in planning their ad campaigns?

I thought Newt had already openly accused Romney of that.

Well, actually, thepoint is that what Mittens does is not venture capitalism. More like ship-breaking. Close the factory and sell the equipment to a slave-labor sweat shop in China or Vietnam
or Saipan.

Big profit to the shareholders and Mittens, devastating loss to the American working class.

The company I work for was owned by Bain, though now they are just consultants, and we managed to survive and grow under their umbrella.
