Did NASA Nuke Jupiter

I have read, though, there is some evidence of mildly critical nuclear fission that takes place in Earth's crust from time to time, from naturally occuring uranium deposits. But nothing we'd notice. I should try to look that one up...
I think you're thinking of Oklo:
The discovery in September 1972 of several Natural nuclear fission reactors in the uranium mines situated there has fired the imagination and aroused the curiosity of scientists.

I know Sagan used it in Cosmos...but I am getting a memory remnant from an Arthur C. Clarke novel or short story with Hunters and Floaters...gotta look at my old books and see who came first.

glenn

Clarke's "Hunters and Floaters" were in his novelization of 2010. I don't have an answer for you, but I hope that clue helps.

2010 is from 1982, so assuming thats his use of the terms we just need to know when sagan used it

No. I suppose you don't read many of my posts (a sound practice, that).

This is silly, everyone knowns that it wasn't NASA that nuke jupiter it was the NSA as a front for the NWO that did it. At the behest of the cub scouts controled by the KKK on their moon base.

Ah the Illuminati card game should always be used as the basis for conspiracy theories

*chuckle*

Oddly enough, when I was doing more role-playing, I used the NWO card game as the basis for organizations and plot-lines in a darkly humorous "GURPS: Illuminati" campaign.

I came across this thread when looking at New Posts, so I didn't see what board it was on. The really, really sad thing is that my first impression was, "Wow, that'd be really cool. I wonder what would happen?"

:o

There are a few thousand more. They've little or no substance as a general rule, but at least they lack concrete. You see the ones posted on CT threads, the 9/11 lunacy mostly, I suspect. Dumb jokes on Chris' favorite delusion are about as much as I can think of to say on that topic.

Well, at least chris wins the "most entrenched CTer" award for those who dared visit the JREF. In my book, anyway.

@Belz: *nod* Reminiscent of one of those bounce-back inflatable punching dolls for children.

I may have misspoken. The bounce-back toys are full of cool air...

You guys laugh now, but as soon as the shadow government of the Illuminati reveal their new Death Star, you won't be chuckling so much! It'll make those silly nuclear bombs look like pop-bottle rockets! Say your farewells to Jupiter now.
