Split From Dick Oliver thread

Name another steel structured high-rise that has collapsed because of thermal expansion.

Structural Conditions Observed Prior to deciding to evacuate the building, firefighters noticed significant structural displacement occurring in the stair enclosures. A command officer indicated that cracks large enough to place a man’s fist through developed at one point. One of the granite exterior wall panels on the east stair enclosure was dislodged by the thermal expansion of the steel framing behind it. After the fire, there was evident significant structural damage to horizontal steel members and floor sections on most of the fire damaged floors. Beams and girders sagged and twisted--some as much as three feet--under severe fire exposures, and fissures developed in the reinforced concrete floor assemblies in many places. Despite this extraordinary exposure, the columns continued to support their loads without obvious damage

Name one steel highrise that has collapsed due to explosives.

Before men went to the moon, history had proven that people couldn't go to the moon. Because there had been no people on the moon, therefore there could be no people on the moon.

However, there have been people on the moon. Could that perhaps mean that relying on what has happened in the past does not make for good predictions for the future?

Who said no one could go to the moon? Were their thousands of attempts to go to the moon before they actually did? Because there have been thousands of fires in thousands of high-rises before and since 9/11.

Because there have been thousands of fires in thousands of high-rises before and since 9/11.

Name one that happened in a steel framed skyscraper with the sprinkler systems inoperable and which fire fighting efforts were abandoned by the fire department.

First time in history? Well, name one time that an occupied skyscraper was rigged for demolition without anyone noticing, and then demolished without anyone who was there noticing it was a controlled demolition. Never happened before? I guess it couldn't have then. I'm glad we got that cleared up.

OK.

Got it.

Thanks.

Well, troll?

Look up controlled demolition. Or look up the Murrah building. Then go look up some fires. There's your proof. Get over it.

None of those were highrises as it's already been explained. Murrah wasn't a steel structure. I said steel. Learn to read.

That wasn't the point I was trying to make. English isn't my first language though, so there might be some issues with translation.

I thought you meant to say it was impossible for a fire to collapse a high rise because it has never happened in history. I tried to say: "There has got to be a first time for everything."

Or let me try saying it different: just because something has never happened before, does not mean it can never happen. It just means it never happened before. It does not mean it can never happen. There might, however, be reasons why it can not happen, which was what Redtail was asking about, I think.

Name another steel structured high-rise that has collapsed because of thermal expansion. Give it up. It's stupid. To claim the towers collapse for the first time in history for one reason was stupid enough. Then to come out with a whole new first time in history excuse for WTC-7 is just over the top ridiculous. Where are the real skeptics around here? You all make me laugh with your nonsense.

We make you laugh?

I can come up with plenty of examples of high-rise fires. None of them collapsing to dust.

Here is one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aon_Center_(Los_Angeles)

The assertions as to what is claimed to have happened on 9/11 are ridiculous. And what will you do? You'll probably start in with how the towers were a unique design. But then you have WTC-7 to contend with. Not the same design. And according to what you claim is the truth collapsed because of a whole different first time in history excuse. You are not a skeptic.

Hey big guy. All I want is one building just one third the size of the twins (450 ft) that collapsed from explosives. Let's see the talent that comes from the southern education system.

So you can't name one that happened in a steel framed skyscraper with the sprinkler systems inoperable and which fire fighting efforts were abandoned by the fire department.

All you had to do was say so.

OK.

Got it.

Thanks.

So a skeptic should believe that nothing can happen for the first time?

Now show us which part of the Aon Center was hit by an airliner.

Come on debunkers. It just doesn't happen. Never did before and never will again. Never mind for two different reasons. You are not skeptics. It really is that simple.

I'm so glad you're here to make these assertions. After all, if you make an assertion, it's true!

The question that we are all trying to ask you is: why?

What mechanism, law of nature, structural element or something makes sure it does not happen? "Never happened before" is not an adequate enough answer.

Name one time that an occupied skyscraper was rigged for demolition without anybody noticing then destroyed without those present noticing it was a controlled demolition.

Come on, troll. It just doesn't happen and never will. Never mind three times in one day. You are not a skeptic. It is really that simple.
