Yes, lead is bad. My point is no one is screaming about Iraq and/or Afghanistan being turned into a "lead poisoned wasteland" even though far more lead bullets have been expended than DU shells.

The use of lead shot for hunting waterfowl was banned by federal regulation in the early 90s, IIRC.

DU shot OTOH...

A close call when you think about it - what if Dick Cheney had shot a lawyer in the face with a DU shell? Another mutant apologetic radioactive Texan lawyer? Is that what you want??

In australia clay pigeon shooting long ago banned lead shot because of the mass of lead building up on the ranges. I rthink quite a few companies now produce lead free shotgun shells....

hey...maybe we could use DU in shotgun shells, after all....the stuff is positively brimming with health advantages.

Well, depleted uranium is well known to have an extremely healthful effect on the prospective targets of tank crews whose vehicles have received a "therapeutic" dosage of the stuff.
