Actually, one of the projects in my high school physics class was to build a structure out of pasta (and it had to be below a certain weight). We then set weights on it until it gave out. You might be surprised how much weight a well-built pasta structure can support.

But they're hardly accurate models of true structures.

And, yeah... those things made quite a mess when they gave out.

We did the same with 4 sheets of A4 paper. The better results were around the 35 kilogram mark.

Yes, WTC1 & WTC2 are not ordinary controlled demolitions, that has been pointed out by all the sources. But they are not ordinary collapses due to structural failure and/or damage either.
