Dean Clifford Discussion Thread

My point is this boy will do anything he can to get in the faces of authority figures.

In an audio/radio interview reposted at Dean's site you can hear him telling the interviewer he tried to cross the border into the U.S. and got into it with the border guards over tired, old and obscure freeman theory about the status of the U.S. as a republic or a democracy.

The guards didn't care to listen and won't let Dean into the U.S., presumably because he didn't have government I.D. and or passport needed to get in.

According to Clifford he gave the guards an insulting tongue lashing and went back to Canada, saying he didn't want to get into the U.S. that badly anyway.

If I recall correctly he got stopped on the way home by the Canadian authorities (who probably got a call from the U.S. about a guy with a rage disorder coming their way) and proceeded to get into it with the Canadian cops, lecturing and insulting them before they confiscated his truck.

I think it's pretty clear Dean went through all this just so he couldn't berate some folks in uniform.

One can argue that Dean's marihuana grow operation is a victimless crime, that his old shotguns were never intended for harm and that his unlicensed driving of unregistered trucks only cheat the taxman.

But, Clifford's careless misrepresentation of of his legal woes, calling them victories, amount to a crime since it has caused harm to gullible freemen convinced to use his methods.

I believe Dean Clifford has been untruthful about the results of his theories. I don't believe he ever got a judge to admit the court had no jurisdiction. I don't believe Dean ever got charges dismissed by the use of his legal methods.

Furthermore Dean, as far as one knows, has never shot straight with his followers about the several civil judgments against him over unpaid taxes and utility bills!

Dean has been in and out of jail so many times in the last few years that one doubts he is able to make a decent living or generally make his way in life.

One may ask why Dean is so self-destructive.

I believe Dean is so obcessed with getting back at society, its institutions and authority figures than he either doesn't realize, or doesn't care if he leads freemen to ruin.

Agreed, he was a social misfit before he found FMOTL on the internet, he just thought/hoped that this would be the perfect alibi for his inability to behave himself.
He has too much tied up in it to stop now as he has nowhere else to go.

If you watch the video of his arrest it looks like a freeman riot. The paying dupes standing in front of and pretending to have their feet run over by police cars don't seem too sane.

They shout the phrases Dean's taught them at the police, to absolutely no effect.

Off camera you can hear one guy telling everyone to calm down. Other than that the crowd looks like a bunch of freeman zombies attacking cops too kind to put them out of their misery.

It seems he his struggling to get his paperwork together and has nothing but excuses as to why he and his much ballyhooed support network can't produce the documents. The poor boy is relying on his brother, who doesn't seem to be too with it.

Our subject seems to be losing his cool a little bit. We hear more cussing and more references to his fantasy documents including his letters (with instructions) to Queen Elizabeth.

It's all ok. He's filed a restraining order against Canada. They can't touch him now.
 
I don't know if it is a result of Dean being in jail for a month and half or what. . .but his conversations with his brother, the letter with instructions to Queen Elizabeth (who Dean calls by her first name), the idea that Dean thinks he's going to dismiss the charges against him and place a restraining order on Canada all seem really, really weird to me.

I suspect, that despite all his claims to be doing the time standing on his head and getting lots of support from freeman pals, Dean is getting little help from "freemenary", growing more isolated and feeling more hopeless every day.

There may be a break down on the way.

I think that may be the case - when one's life view falls down around you some do take it very hard. Hopefully any break down will effect as few people as possible and he won't try to take revenge on 'Canada'.
 
Update has been deleted. Maybe someone at Clifford Central realized just how crazy-bad it was.
