David Horrowitz encounters genocidal Muslim student.

That evil David Horowitz! How dare he manipulate that young woman into declaring her support for his extermination?

Oh, and didn't the Americans commit genocide against somebody else? So it's okay when they do it, but not when Muslims do it?

(/sarcasm)

This well spoken "intelligent and moral" young woman said "for it".

What more do you need?

Case closed as he said.

Worst thing is, I'm sure she's considered one of the "moderates".

Is it possible that this student supports Hamas due to being disgusted by the corruption of the PA and the legacy of corruption Arafat passed down?

It's possible, but it's also somewhat irrelevant. The key moment is at the end of the clip, where Horowitz asks her whether or not she supports a specific statement made by a Hamas leader.

Granted, what I've read on Hamas doesn't look too good on the corruption angle, but perhaps the relative degrees are what inform her choice.

DR

Relative degrees of corruption between Hamas and the PA have nothing to do with her answer to that last question.

I don;t like corruption in politics at all, but forced to choose between a corrupt politican and a political fanatic I will take the corruption in a New York Minute. They will do less damage then what a fanatic will.

Sorry chaps but you are missing the point.

Hamas is a palestinian political group that supports violent attacks against israel. Its main use of funds is its political role, including providing basic healthcare and even food etc to palestinians.

Its not contradictory to support hamas but be broadly against terrorism.
Hey, the Nazis provided jobs and healthcare too.

Nope, I still don't think I could vote for the Nazis. That whole genocide thing on the platform, I just can't ignore it.

Its also not a huge stretch to claim the violence hamas does is not terrorism but armed resistance against invasion, albeit by methods not used by western nations.
Actually, that's an enormous stretch.

Crystal clear. I'm sure she was treated as a hero when she next met with MSA clubmates.

Correction: Hamas is the driving force, supplier, facilitator of terrorism and indoctrinator of the Palestinian people.

It diverts humanitarian aid that predominantly comes via Israel, since the Egyptians can't be bothered, controls the black market smuggling trade under the Gaza-Egypt border, which the Egyptians can be bothered with, and are adamantly involved with. Sells this aid and black market goods are exorbitant prices to the Gazans to fund its terror campaign against Israel and run its cheery terror summer camps for kids.

If you were claiming this to be the position of nascent Hamas, known still to be an offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood at this point, back in the mid to end '70's when Israel did support anti-corruption, charities, and social work overall as a means to counter Arafat and his PLO goons, sure.

Everything following Hamas's official declaration and motivations when the 1st intifada broke out in 1987 and its declared violent opposition to an independent Palestinian state and the Oslo Accords, on the other hand, you are absolutely wrong.

The definition of terrorism is an absolute one and is not restricted on where one resides or the form of government it supports (ie 'Western nation').

Quite frankly, and I hope I'm wrong, but you sound a bit like this nutjob student in this video.....

I remember a while back when some people had misguided aspirations on Hamas, but I thought they all had gotten over that by now.

Those were done against valid military targets, and the purpose of them was to defeat the ability to wage war of those nations. It was not to kill civilians. This has been discussed at length many times in other threads.

No, it simply is not a contradiction and no, it being done by a country is certainly not a key element in what constitutes terrorism. Blowing up civilian buses and rocketing random targets is in not way comparable to the nukes dropped on Japan in the way you're using it.

yeah Nuking away 1000's of civilians in a Japanese city is not as evil as to blow up some civilians on a merket.............

amazing.......

The alternative would be another 10 years of war since the Japanese were in no mood to surrender.

so suicide bombers only use to small bombs? they should go nuclear to save us from decades of war, since jews and others are in no mood to surender.

Of course, in that case, you'll have no problem with someone who joins the KKK, claims he does it because they clean up highways as volunteer work, and still declares they are "broadly against racism".

Or with someone who joins the Nazi with full knowledge of their goal of the "final solution" because, the new Nazi claims, they build all those nice new autobahns, and he stills considers himself "broadly against antisemitism".

Generally speaking, when an organization's goal is openly genocide and terrorism and murder, said organization's charity work (if any) pales into insignificance, and is no excuse for supporting them. If some organization wants to kill all Sudanese, or all Norwegians, or all Chinese, or all Blacks, or all Women, whatever schools it establishes or clinics it opens is irrelevant -- its genocidal goals alone put it beyond the pale.

But not so when it comes to the genocide of the Jews.

When the organization is openly genocidal but it's just Jews that it wants to genocide, that, clearly, is not good enough a reason to not support it in view of all those good charity and education work it does. We can still join it and help it and support it, as long as we make clear we are "broadly against terrorism". It's not, after all, as if said organization wants to genocide anybody who matters, you know, or is dedicated to the killing of full human beings.

Merely wanting to genocide all the Jews is a bit like wanting to kill all squirrels: a bizzare, disgusting goal, to be sure, but not in itself enough to morally forbid supporting the organization dedicated to it, if it does enough good charity and educational work. At most, all is required from us that we declare we are "broadly against squirrel-killing" as we give the organization our moral support.

Please explain how...atom-bombing a city rather than an isolated atol, in either case is a "legitimate military target" and "not to kill civilians".

The Japanese didn't build their munitions factories and naval yards on isolated atolls.

yeah nuking the minution factories where the students were forced to work was a brillinat way.

It worked. The Japanese surrendered and the US didn't have to invade the Japanese home islands, which by all estimates would have killed far more people than the nukes.

who knows, maybe an Iranian Nuke will also work, if they will make one, i wonder if that will then also be seen as a good solution.

Work at what? Solving the Jew problem by wiping Israel off of the map? I suppose that could work. Of course, it would also come at the cost of Iran being wiped off the map. Would that be a good solution to the Jewish menace? Perhaps to people who hate Jews so much that they don't care that millions of others would be killed in retaliation.
