Repeat offender, Paris Hilton captured in Las Vegas

Paris Hilton has been charged with felony cocaine possesion, RadarOnline.com has learned.

According to the criminal complaint filed by the Las Vegas District Attorney, Paris “Wilfully (sic), unlawfully, feloniously, knowingly, and intentionally possess a controlled substance, to-wit: Cocaine.”

The officer wrote that Paris was carrying a purse as they went into the Wynn and Hilton told him she needed to put some lip balm on. “As she began to open it, I saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from the purse and into my hand.”

The officer waited for the arrival of a female officer to assist in the search and they removed the “suspected bindle of cocaine,” and then Paris was read her Miranda rights. Paris told the officer that the purse was not hers, and that “she had borrowed it from a friend.”

The "friend" is believed to be still at large.

Oh I thought your post was about Martha Stewart being thrown in the clink again.
Anyway......
Paris' "friend" might show up if the Hilton family gives enough money to some fool.
By the way ya know there's a reason that possession of this drug is a felony, it's not made and sold by little old ladies after they come back from church on Sunday. Nope, it's the money made from the makin' and sellin' of this drug goes to scary people that shouldn't have so much money.

Illogical... you're claiming it should be illegal because illegal drugs are sold by scary people?

Wouldn't making it legal take those scary people out of the loop?

^^ Logic 101! :D

Totally. Remember how legalizing other forms of commerce resulted in BP and Exxon and Wal-Mart and the Military-Industrial Complex?

I'm sure that if we just legalize drugs, all the corruption and violence and exploitation in the drug market will vanish overnight!

I mean, that's what happened with Nike, right?

Nike, BP, Exxon and Wal-Mart and the military-industrial-complex all used to be illegal? Say what now? What planet are YOU from?!?

<makes a note that theprestige considers oil companies, and defense contractors on the level of drug dealers>

Surprises every day around here!

Wildcat already pointed out the circular reasoning of this.

The actual reason why it is illegal doesn't have to do with the people who sell it but the effects on the people who use it. It's your kindly nanny state, saving you from yourself by throwing you in the slammer. Because they care that much. ;)

Also, the children need to know that it's BAD. Why can't Paris Hilton be a better role model for the children? We need to throw people who are bad in the slammer for the sake of the children. Yes. ;)

Thank God!

If Paris had done cocaine for one more night, civilization as we know it would have ended.

Looks like they caught this one just in time.

I suppose the point to be taken from this is that Ms. Hilton is exceedingly dumb. Sooner or later, she will be introduced to the joys of multiple offenses and serious jail time.

I will go out on a limb here and claim that someone who turns being an attention whore into a multi-million dollar business, is not dumb.

Well she didn't like being in jail the first time she had to go. Lousy food, frumpy clothes and not so nice inmates. Looks to me like shed learn but she hasn't. If she has to drink she needs to have someone drive for her and she needs to keep her dope out of sight.

I agee with the dumb part, but I doubt she'll ever do serious prison time despite what criminal activity is in her future.

With very few exceptions, excessively wealthy people don't do prison. And don't mention Martha, she choose prison.

You know, if I had cocaine my purse (hypothetically speaking, because I never carry a purse, and never use cocaine), I think I might wait to open the purse to put on lip balm until I wasn't standing right next to a cop.

Dumbness is not a barrier to making lots of money when you're a hot chick. Look at Jenny McCarthy for example. It doesn't take much brains to sell a hot body.

Yeah, theprestige, Prohibition was a roaring success, no?

My point is simply that legal commerce seems to generate just as much corruption, violence and exploitation as the illegal drug trade--at least according to some people.

If being legal hasn't stopped big oil from harming the environment ... if it hasn't stopped Nike from operating sweatshops full of impoverished children... if it hasn't stopped the military-industrial complex from investing heavily in poltical corruption and warmongering... what makes you think that being legal will stop the cocaine industry from being, well, the cocaine industry?

Think of all the legal, un-laundered, publically-disclosed dollars that the oil industry invests in political influence. Tell me more about how we would all benefit from giving the cocaine industry, or the heroin industry, that kind of access.

I see plea coming out of this one. Charges will be dropped down to a misdemeanor, maybe some jail time plus rehab, maybe a breakdown, and all is well again in the world.
