I resent how you just naturally assumed I was human. That shows a species bias on your part that I don't agree with.
 
Hallelujah!!! The gods are smiling down upon us. For those interested in listening to some great music during the conference (not the tourist crap on Bourbon Street), the Rock n Bowl is featuring two fine acts:

Thurs the 27th, Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Cha's
Fri the 28th, The Iguanas

I've seen both bands on several occasions (The Iguanas about 20 years ago, when they were first starting out), and both come with my highest recommendation!

I get in Wed morning around 11:00 and leave Monday afternoon at 5:00.

Gonna do a lot of walking around on Wed afternoon and Thur morning. Weather permitting, I'm going to head to the Art Museum (been about 10-12 years since I've been there) and the Garden on Thur afternoon and hit the Aquarium (I don't think I've been there) or the Zoo on Thur morning and the D-Day museum (excellent) on Monday.

Thursday is Zydeco Night at the Rock n Bowl. I'm hoping to round up some folks who'd like to skip the tourist zone (Bourbon Street) and go hear some music instead.
 
leaving around 4 am to head down for registration. I'll prolly hang in the hotel that first day since I'll be sleep deprived

I follow this thread because I wish I was there.

I've only met JREF humans once, and had a great time.

I hope you guys eventually post pictures.
