Cross-Dressing Thread (Skeptics argue FOR Paranormal, and Vice Versa)

First, I would like to compliment Ian for joining in. I thought that was pretty cool, considering the $h!t he takes here...

Anyway,

There is obviously something else in the Mind. A Spirit that drives the boat that is the Body. That is our Soul, and once you unleash your Inner Power by experiencing the Qunatum Levels of the Universe, then nothing is impossible. You must align your chakras and study the infinite wisdom of the Hidden Masters. Once you are Enlightened, then the harmony of the Spheres will be yours to command.

Whoah. I just posted a reply that didn't show up.

Corporate America is trying to KEEP ME SILENT!!!

Either that, or I tried to compliment Ian on this forum, causing a matter/anti-matter like collision....

And now it reappeared!

The aliens are watching me again....

There are mysteries in this world, this universe! that science cannot explain. Those who dare to explore the unknown are attacked by scientists desparately protecting their fragile egos and federal grants. Scientists who do study the paranormal must hide from their torch bearing "peers" and appeal to the open minded public for their support. Randi's prize is fraud because he is like a snarling dog guarding the prize inside it's dog house.

Disclaimer: I wrote this in the spirit, if a little from left field, of the thread. As I'm "New Blood" I want y'all to know that this isn't how I think.

My turn

Look, believe it or not, I agree with most of you skeptics. I think people like John Edwards and Sylvia Browne are total frauds and fakes. Because the fact is, telepathy doesn't work like that. I know, because I am telepathic myself. Now, before you go dismissing me as a woo, I have to admit that it isn't something I can control. Basically, it works like this: I have a flash of insight, where I "see" something in my mind, and shortly afterwards it happens. I don't expect you to believe it, because it isn't something I can replicate at will (so no JREF prize for me, unfortunately). And I can't make it happen -- for example, I can't concerntrate real hard on the lottery number for tomorrow and see it in my mind (believe me, I've tried). The best way I can describe it is, it's like being struck by lightning -- totally random, but totally real. It's something you'd have to experience yourself to believe. I don't know the physics behind it or anything, but I'm guessing it's an evolutionary thing, like language. I'm sure we didn't develop language all at once, it probably came in stages. And when we were first developing it, it probably seemed paranormal to us -- how could we get actual meaning out of an incoherent yell? I think telepathy is something like that -- a skill we're just beginning to evolve, but haven't fully developed yet.

And of course...it's true!

See this is exactly the kind of question that I've come to expect from all you closed-minded skeptics. You are all so sure of yourselves, that nothing can upset your carefully-constructed worldview. You are totally dismissive of new claims, no matter how true they may or may not be, and dismiss out of hand anything that doesn't fall neatly within your dogmatic "scientific" paradigm. Science is just another religion, really.

Never mind that -- how do mermaids and mermen...umm, you know...oh, never mind.
No need to be bashful, many people would like to know how mermaids and mermen... erm... *blush* play table tennis underwater. But I can't tell you, you're not a monk.

[edit]

Q: What happens when bigfoot steps on something?

A: What it stepped on says squatch.

Don't you know? The mermaid lays an egg, and the merman...you know...masturbates onto it later.

Procreation is just no fun for them, and that's why there are no fish-people.

It's true! ;)

Our behavior is merely a manifestation of our cognitions, feelings and other mental processes. These, quite obviously, are not physical events. Thus we exhibit free will and mere scientism is doomed to failure when trying to explain behavior.
