CPAC 2021

I'm going to go with:
It was an intentional decision.
It will be denied that it was an intentional decision.
It's the fault of 'the left' for noticing the similarity, and thus, they are the true Nazis.
The right demands One Party Rule.

Holy crap - it's a shame Randi's mio is no more, you got that 100% correct.

Meanwhile, back at the troll statue, made me wonder: WHY did it have to be made in Mexico? Is there absolutely nowhere in the USA where such a fiberglass-and-chrome-paint item could be made? (It's fiberglass, btw.) Is all US industry at such a standstill that not even one Trump-boat builder has the time and ability to turn their fiberglassing skills to this? The US has actually run out of chrome spray-paint?

Mexico is where the "artist" lives, nothing more than that.

Straw poll at CPAC (top 3)

Trump: 55%
DeSantis: 21%
Noem: 4%

Same, without Trump:

Ron DeSantis: 43%
Kristi Noem: 11%
Don Jr: 8%
Mike Pompeo: 7%
Ted Cruz: 7%
Tucker Carlson: 3%
Josh Hawley: 3%
Nikki Haley: 3%
Ivanka: 3%
Rand Paul: 2%
... and Mike Pence: 1%

ETA: for context about the significance of this. In the CPAC straw poll in 2013, the top 2 were Rand Paul and Rubio. So, there's still hope for Ted and Josh. :D

This is absolutely hilarious.

The National Anthem for CPAC 2021 was sung acapella by someone called Sailor Sabol. She was dreadful.

Pianist Larry Goldings has tried to add a piano accompaniment to her rendition, so you can see how many times she went off key, off tempo, off world. It's painful and funny at the same time

Hey, it's Enrico Pallazzo!

Isn't 55% for daddy Trump, actually a lot lower than expected?

Seems the entire CPAC weekend has been about promoting the Trump personality cult.

Yes, it seems low for this crowd.
Another similar result: 68 percent of #CPAC2021 respondents said Trump should run again in 2024. BUT other 32 percent said No or no opinion.

Maybe they use Dominion voting machines at CPAC. :duck:

And 20% were too coked out of their mind to answer.

lol

While I think there's a fair chance even more than 20% of this crowd are coked out of their mind, this was the top three of the poll with Trump. Will add that to the post.

Yeah but Donny Jr had more votes.
:dl:

Was this write in or multiple choice?

Ron Paul won the straw poll twice and Rand won 3 times. [snicker snicker]

Trump speech bingo

So far from me and Regnad from the Trump Presidency thread:
The election was rigged.

I won by a landslide.

We have proof the judges wouldn't let us show to them.

Republicans that aren't behind me are traitors to the party.

I'm thinking of Graham for my VP (he may or may not disclose this so early).(I took that out, Trump isn't going to play his VP card until he's won the primary.)

Sleepy Joe.

New York State tax return investigations the worst witch hunt in history.

Totally exonerated (from impeachment) again
Adding today:
I stopped COVID, that's my vaccine Biden is taking credit for

There's a caravan of rapists and murderers heading for the border, Biden invited them in

oh yeah, the caravan. odds on whether the caravan gets here before the wall is there to stop them?

It sums up modern conservatism well: Patriotic, enthusiastic, and ultimately failing while claiming 'winning!'
To me the summation is: the pervasive failure to recognize what is of decent quality and what's not.

Damn, she was really proud of that one off-key "freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" note at the end there too- so proud she held it for like nine seconds, and still wavered off key from that.
I imagined she was rewriting it by changing the key from note to note (or during any given note).

There should have been a panel of judges critiquing that :D

The pizzagate folks might say the same thing as you, why do these democrats keep using pedophile code images and words over and over?

Except their "pedophile codes" are literally made up out of nothing. Look at some of the "codes" "deciphered" by the pizzagate clowns, and tell me how they relate in any way to known "pedophile codes". They don't. They literally just chose words at random to assign them meaning.

Compare that to the several examples of comparisons between Nazi and Republican iconography. In some cases, like this stage, they're literally identical, and even when not identical, they are similar enough that even the people who don't think it's deliberate at least acknowledge the similarities.

As I said, once or twice, maybe we could give them a pass. Maybe if they "accidentally" copied some non-Nazi iconography, we could give them a pass.

But when they repeatedly make the same "mistake", after being publicly associated with Nazis and Nazi-adjacent movements, they lose the benefit of the doubt.
