I was just told that Weiner sent photos of himself entirely naked. I thought he had only taken photos of him in his underwear and shirtless.

Can someone confirm that he sent completely naked photos with his penis in the picture?

There is a certain photo going around that is purported to be a photo Breitbart had on his phone, showed two shock jocks on their XM radio show, and in the process of showing them, the phone pic was caught on video.

Beitbart says he has the picture but hasn't released it.

ABC News also presumably have the pictures, which they paid $10,000 to $15,000 for. I don't know whether they have confirmed the existence of the "X-rated" photo, but if it exists, I'm sure they could.

Tweeter doesn't have a private feed now? It's all public?

And, yes, Vitter should resign. He actually broke laws.

And all Congressman Weiner did was violate his oath of office.

To you, that is irrelevant.

To some people, that matters.

PS: I apologize to you all for re-entry into this thread, but the pic of Rahm rahming his (who knows what) into Granny Pelosi's (who the hell knows?) to evoke such spontaneous affection was, to say the least, worth the price of admission.

Granny is hot for Rahm. I give her props for serious cradle robbing. You go, Girl! You still got what it takes to make the boys breath fast!

With apologies to Chuck Berry and every line of coke he ever did to bring joy to the masses (including me):

Go
Go Granny go
Go
Go Granny go
Go
Go
Granny be good!

Again, you're just spouting ********* to justify this absurd voyeurism. Nothing Weiner has done gives me any indication that he would be incapable of serving as a legislator.
Look, I gave you my opinion on how I would take it into account on how I'd vote. Trying to compare him to King is just your lame attempt to justify what he did. The only opinion that really matters are those voters in his district. If they are okay with it, so be it.

Yfrog closed a loophole that could have allowed anyone access to Weiner's account. Cannonfire outlined why Weiner could have been hacked.

No, there DEFINITELY wasn't ANYTHING obvious before Weiner confessed.

Although this might seem to be beating a dead horse, I'd like to see if we can have a civil discussion and perhaps I can change your mind.

As I see it, the disagreement stems from the fact the you deny you had enough evidence to believe that Rep. Weiner (henceforth weiner) tweeted a picture of a man in his underwear (henceforth the pic) to a young female who follows weiner on twitter on May 27th, until he called a press conference and confessed this week on the 6th of June.

Let's start there. Is this accurate so far ?

"I, (name of Member), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

It would have had quite a bearing on all that "content of character" stuff...

Not really! MLK had the character to speak out in the face of adversity and injustice, and galvanize the Civil Rights movement.

Which just goes to show that a person's sexual activities has very little bearing on their character in other areas of their lives.

Let's not!

I'm pretty much over it. But I will say this much: From my point of view, all I saw was a bunch of people who had it in for Weiner and believed Breitbart.

That was enough for me to conclude that without anything definitive (like a confession) that this was most likely another Breitbart hoax.

Wow, incredible comprehension fail.

No, I'm not attempting to justify what he did, I'm telling you I don't care and no one should. Like ENDLESS historical characters before him, including King and Jefferson (slave banging) and Kennedy and FDR (extramarital affair) and whoever else you want to add, their sexual habits had no bearing on their ability to perform their jobs.

This notion that somehow Anthony Weiner or Christopher Lee are disqualified from serving in office because they like trolling for ass on the internet is primitive. It's regressive. A trip back to our embarrassing, frivolous, religious history.

Democrats may throw him under the bus because he's not a team player:

It would appear to be so.
WASHINGTON — House Democratic leaders began an orchestrated effort on Wednesday to force Representative Anthony D. Weiner of New York to resign his seat, saying his sexually explicit Internet messages and subsequent lies about them were making him, and the party, the subject of ridicule.

The push came as an angry Representative Nancy Pelosi, the minority leader from California, concluded that Mr. Weiner was becoming too much of a problem for his colleagues as they planned to retake the House in 2012.
Kind of calls into question the claims that he's an effective fighter for the liberal agenda. He may be a good arguer as an individual, but congressional politics is a team sport.

Former girlfriend Kirsten Powers calls for him to resign, pointing to the misogyny exposed in his FB chat with the Las Vegas gal:
I don't know if I agree with her that it's "misogyny" but I'm not surprised that some women would see it that way.

Joan Walsh, a bitter end defender, now says that the pregnancy of his wife means he should resign:
That poor women. :(

Still, looks like those who took the over are the winners.
You mean on him resigning? What was the over/under?
Looks like pressure is building. He may resign yet.

That's fine.

But that's all you saw becuase you refused to take your blinders off. And that was pretty much Ziggurats point.:)

You know, on many other parts of the forum, when a person admits they were wrong, and explains their reasons for being wrong, the opposition usually have the courtesy to say "fair enough" and then get on with it.

I don't know what else you lot want me to say. It's pretty rubbishy to pile it on when the other party has conceded.

I think you, and everyone else who piled on after I conceded, should look in the mirror and ask yourselves who is really wearing blinders.

And if people are going around touting one of Breitbart's stories, they ought not be shocked that others might see them, or their alleged evidence, as having little to no credibility.

You guys got lucky this time because, for once, Breitbart wasn't just making stuff up.
