Zig, nice job smoking out a few more unskeptical liberals.
"You da man," as they used to say when Tiger ruled the PGA tour.

:th:

I was actually a little surprised that nobody had started a thread on the topic before I did. I had expected one of the hyperventilating right-wingers to start something at least by the Monday after the story first broke, but Tuesday rolled around and still nothing, so I decided, what the hell, I'll throw the firecracker myself. After that, well,
:catfight:

On a side note, but still related, I'm disappointed that Jon Stewart gave Anthony Weiner a pass Monday night, June 6th. Weiner might be Jon's actual close friend, but still, he didn't even say "dude, what were you THINKING?" on his show. A little blurb, before moving on to Edwards and Palin.

As if to prove his point, his accusation wasn't about you not admitting you were wrong.

Riiiiiiiiight!!! I was the only lefty not to equivocate about being wrong after Weiner confessed, and I got lied about TWICE for my trouble, and called an Ass to boot.

I guess seeing as personalization is apparently allowed on this thread, I can call you a dimwitted fool for coming up with that poor excuse to justify your buddiy's personalization!!!

What Stewart thinks of what Weiner did is between them.

He owes nothing to Edwards or Palin other than a rotten tonato or two.

Weiner's candle is dimmed, but blowing it out will not make Edwards' or Palin's or the sludgemonster's candles any brighter.

You seem to be the only one making that claim.

I wouldn't have voted for Palin, period. She's demonstrated she's not qualified. Edwards? Get real.

As to Breitbart, I've got his page bookmarked only because I want to read what he says in his own words, rather than what folks like you say about him. (In all honesty, all you have to do is quote him directly. He does enough damage to himself on his own.)

I basically agree with you, what I will say in Stewart's favor, however, is that he was very upfront about his friendship. If, for example, a judge has a close relationship with someone appearing in his courtroom, we don't expect that judge to preside over the proceedings, we demand that they recuse themselves. Stewart being upfront and glib about the whole thing was something like that.

Colbert went after him.

That's as maybe, but it struck me that Stewart, from what I saw, was actually pretty hard on him. Hardly seemed like he was taking it that easy. (Then again, how can you when your friend does something that stupid.)

Yes, I'd be inclined to agree from a personal perspective. Except everything he touches does more damage to other people and our political landscape than it does to himself! Even when he is right for a change.

Stewart's been needling him for several days now, even while admitting that they were friends.

But in fairness, the news of Weiner's admission probably broke too late for the writers to do a whole spiel on it.

Nothing that the constitution allows anyone to do to the sludge monster would be as painful as what its victims have gone through.

Other House members are much more likely to put on rubber gloves before touching anything that emanates from his office. :D

I'm betting they stop asking him, "Is that a gun in or pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

On the other hand, coming right out with it would have exposed some of the women with whom he tweeted to publkicity they did not want. He gave them time to cover their tracks. No crime in that.

He is not obligated to tell us who he flirts with. It is a matter of the ladies' privacy. No reason for them to be held up to ridicule because the sludge monster went hormonal on them.

For GB: you are nominated for the US Grenade Leaping Upon team in the 2012 Olympics. You got game.

Here's a fun little hypothesis in re Congressman Weiner: you've all been had. The narrative goes something like this:

His wife was getting suspicious, but couldn't sort out who he might be seeing other than her. (Note in an early page of this thread, that she was accused by one of our posters of marrying him for convenience, as she's allegedly (huh?) the Secretary of State's lover). He senses her probing about and has his lover take a few pics of his package to create some bait. His lover, in this story, is a nice young man from a lobbying firm in DC. The misdirection uses Drudge Wannabe Breitbart as conduit to getting a thread of him lusting after young ladies in his heart, a la Jimmy Carter, though never consumating this desire in the flesh.

Big noise, all flash, no boom. The only tactical error is the pointless lying early on about what he did or did not do, but that did provide extra cover.

We arrive at today, with the story being he and his wife "working through this" and his gay love affair (heck, in this narrative, if he's bi, why not have lovers of any sort that gets his Kilbasa interested?) now a very well protected secret. No Gary Hart moment for this guy.

Pretty much an A, or A-, in false flag operation.

I tell ya, I finally give props to the CT loons I arrived on the JREF forums to kick over four years ago. Their brain waves and lunacy gave me some framework material that helped me come up with that little jest, which closes my participation in this thread.

Who really cares about Weiner's wiener?

Nobody with a life, except his wife.
