I can't find the original post, but I thought the story was Breitbart leaked the emails and was tweeting to him ?

I guess the emails were obtained by the smoking gun, but Breitbart says he didn't leak them ?

Sure, there are two separate questions:

1) How will the public react?
2) How should the public react?

I don't disagree with you about #1, but I'm sad that our culture still behaves that way.

So he lied to you, BFD! All politicians lie, it just hurts more when you actually like the guy. I liked John Edwards too, and he turned out to be a liar.

I wasn't fond of Clinton because he was very conservative, but he was a Democrat and I supported him! He was a liar too. Obama is possibly even more conservative than Clinton, but considering the Crazed Lunatics that have taken over GOP, Obama is preferable to the alternative. Yet he has claimed to have done some things which I believe to be lies.

The Cheney administration's lies are the worst of all, as they have led to Illegal Invasions and Occupations, War Crimes, Mass Murder, Torture, and an assault on our civil liberties. Insofar as Obama has continued the Bush policies of violating international laws and many of our civil liberties, he is complicit with the lies of the Cheney bush administration.

Schwarzenegger has apparently lived a lie for years. However, he never ran on a Socially Conservative platform, so as far as I'm concerned he gets a free pass on that score.

Weiner's lies are even more trivial, and if people (on either side) think Weiner should be called to the mat for "ethics violations," to be consistent, Schwarzenegger should face charges too (even if he is out of office).

So give the Hurt Feelings a rest, stop being naive, and vote for the least horrible person.

Right, that's how democracy works, that does not mean, however, that what the public chooses is good. Less than a half century ago Weiner wouldn't be fit for democratic office because of his multi-racial marriage.

That's just what the public wants, guess we can't say that sort of thinking was stupid.

Again, the way he handled it was stupid. That it was ever an issue for public scrutiny was even stupider.

He should be gone or reminded of his lies at every opportunity for the rest of his public career.

I was an Edwards supporter too. I made a mistake believing him. Best thing to do is to own up to your mistakes right away.

But GB's other points about lying politicians and whether sexual fidelity should be a factor in whether a person is a good official or not are well made too.

that that was more likely,

is absurd.

Just to be precise , I don't have to be supporter of wiener to NOT be an anti-wiener activist, do I ?

I already posted my political leanings in reply to you. I don't live in his district or state, but I have enjoyed many of his speeches/rants on the floor.

Just because I tried to be objective and came to the conclusion that wiener sent the tweet himself does not make me an anti-wiener activist.

When you consider what that sentence says about our expectation of politicians, it's kinda frightening. We laugh because it hurts too much to cry.
