Look, do read de Beger's testimony at the Thirlwall Inquiry and during the trial instead of reading Felicity Lawrence and the 'Free Letby' brigade at the GUARDIAN.

If you prefer fantasy, i.e., that a therapist told Letby to write those notes, then I'll leave you to it, because for many people with 'hero' ideation, reality is too difficult to bear.

Instead of following your 'gut feelings' try reading de Beger's testimony and you'll note she never told Letby to 'write down' her feelings. On the contrary, there is a clear point under her testimony at Thirlwall, cross-examined by KC for the inquiry, de Poer, in which de Beger is shown an admission by Letby that she felt she had done something wrong regarding the babies and needed extra support on the anniversaries of the babies deaths (unlike other nurses) yet failed to twig that she, de Beger, needed to act on safeguarding concerns, as she knew Letby was being investigated in respect of the surprisingly high number of neonatal deaths. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ hell, Letby virtually confessed to de Beger and there - mate of Letby, de Beger - was, sailing along thinking, 'We've got to get Letby back to the NNU, all us HR bods and execs are on your side!"

By that it was meant KC Johnson did not ask the jury and nor did Justice Goss direct them to ascribe any particular meaning to them. They were allowed to draw their own inferences in that matter.

Anyway, Thirlwall has, like every other sodding inquiry report and other report into NHS anything which I can recall, including a number I contributed to, concluded that, and I summarise/paraphrase, much NHS management is pish, there was a bunch of managers complicit in doing nothing and ignoring policy and procedures, there were managers who bullied whistle blowers, despite the tokenism of whistle blowing policies, there were chronic staffing problems ignored by management and...and...and...

Oh, yeah, Thirlwall (like other reports) recommends regulation of management (there is some regulation of managers who are also on a professional register, such as medics or nurses, but that's pish as well). I've been waiting for decades for that one, and no-one has bitten the bullet, ever.

Some of this ◊◊◊◊ has not changed since the '80s that I know of (I worked for a trust which had one of the worst records for persecuting whistle blowers and other folk who asked awkward questions. And then there were the other trusts which weren't as bad, but still did it).

C'mon, Yvette, are you actually going to take on NHS managers and sort the buggers out? If not: see you back here in a couple of years, bemoaning the same old same old again...again...again...
