Compatibility between Science and Genesis

This thread is entertaining, and has been a pleasure to read. If only I had half the skill in witicism as some gave here. But alas....
 
There is absolutely zero compatibility between Genesis and reality-never mind science. Anyone who believes the Genesis account is a true sky blue moron.
The scary thing is its often tolerated. Lying about the past or science for ideological reasons is repugnant and should never be allowed to happen without a robust reality based reply.
 
I want to address the sneaky language being used here.

Sentence #2 is technically true, but misleading when paired with the first. Take this example:

In both cases, sentence #2 is, if we're going to be very strict with our language, logically necessary. After all, how could a car not be a car? How could a human not be a human? But in either case, the sentence ignores the matter at hand: Gradual, generational change over time. Yes, a car is distinct from a horse-drawn carriage, but it only came about because of the forms that preceded it. In turn, the evidence indicates that humans were preceded by tree-swingers. There's a lot of biological data to support this, but it's been done to death.

Arguing with a bible literalist is like playing chess with a pigeon, In the end the pigeon will just knock over all the pieces, craps on the board and fly back to its flock to claim victory.
