Comey is a petty idiot

How come the idea that someone is doing something for money is supposed to discredit Trumps enemies, but is lauded as a virtue for Trump and his allies? Even if he is motivated by making a buck, that's an all American cocktail of free speech and capitalism, right?

Books like that have been published about every POTUS in living memory, but it's only a problem this time because deep down you know your guy is a crook, you know he stinks of corruption, you know his crooked dealings won't stand up if enough light is focused on them, and you know the only possible defense of the indefensible is a pre-emptive offense against anyone and everyone who doesn't salute the gangster in chief.

So transparent.

:thumbsup::thumbsup: You are so right.

But Trump the media master must understand that every time he whines about Comey, he is selling the book.

Maybe Trump has a cut of the proceeds?

It's only good if it is about them, not us.

Jesus, Comey is bringing Trump's wife into the conversation.

Despicable.

Was it despicable when Trump did the same thing during the campaign about his Republican opponent's wife? To the point of sneering at how ugly she was?

Or when Trump mocked a handicapped reporter. Or when he called Miss Universe winner Melissa Machado Miss Piggy and Miss Housekeeping. Or when he told supporters to rough up a protester. Or when he attacks a Gold Star family.

What the hell happens in the minds of TBD and Logger when they are outraged at the slightest offense by an opponent of Trump and ignore and dismiss with a wave of a hand of the most disgraceful behavior by Trump and his allies.

You have to wonder if they have a damn clue just how awful Donald Trump is.

If so, it was pushed off the truck very delibertly in front of CNBC headquarters.

I like Maddow but she is full of BS here. You know damn well the publisher made sure that the major news organizations got advanced copies of the book. They are not going to pass up a Free Marketing Bonanza like that...

I would have thought so, too, but Maddow says the publisher was keeping a tight leash on it. I went back to watch that segment again to be sure I wasn't misrepresenting what she said: She said that the first description of the contents appeared on the Daily Beast, then on the AP Twitter feed, and then the Washington Post said they "obtained" a copy, and then the NYT published their (presumably authorized) review. "And now, I have a copy of it because MSNBC was able to go hunting in the urban jungle of NYC and tranquilizer-dart a copy."

I actually saw a Fox speaking head say that it was a disgrace to the office you formerly held that he was stooping so low. Apparently, he should be above acting like Trump in even the slightest way.

I was just dumbfounded: the head of the FBI is an office that demands more respect than the President of the US?

Never mind that nothing I've seen so far compares to what Trump will tweet in the next 72 hours.

Trumpers claim how awful was Obama. But can they not see how so very much more is said and written about their Grifter in Chief? By sheer weight of volume, the serious warnings by the majority about Trump utterly eclipse the meaningless, moaning drivel spouted by the minority about Obama. Is their worldview so insular as to utterly discount anything and everything that occurs outside that little impenetrable bubble of security they've vacuum-formed about their skulls?

In spite of their side's Great Victory in hoisting to power their perceived Savior, the bulk of the Earth's population clearly sees what is probably the singularly least capable and least honorable man to helm the US. And so the poor, beseiged Trumpers must endure almost the Planet itself decrying their foolish blunder committed in a mixture of despair, ignorance and hate. In vain do they strive to convince themselves of the rightness of their choice. With figurative fingers firmly stuffed into ears, they are reduced to shouting, "I can't hear you."

Books like Comey's hit too close to close to home. The facts about Trump cannot be disputed honestly. And so in defense against the shock of reality the instinctive impulse, as long as the denial response provides a psychological buffer, is to reduce the attacker to a caricature who must be more despicable than their own despicable Chosen One.

He’s a Republican, so of course he’s got petty and idiotic streaks. It’s one of the defining traits. It is, however, amusing to see those who typically cheer pettiness and idiocy the loudest blow up when even a wisp of it is directed at the pettiest, most idiotic, Republican of them all.

I can see plenty of idiotic and petty streaks on the left side of the political divide as well.

Sorry, but I just don't buy it. If the book leaked, it is because the publisher caused the link on purpose.

Before his e-mail announcement, Comey thought Clinton was going to win the election. Golly, what happened?

Comment copied from Reddit

A wonderful*tweet*from Jake Tapper earlier today:"Calling @Comey a “proven LEAKER & LIAR” while you’re about to pardon Scooter Libby, who leaked the identity of a covert CIA employee and was convicted for lying about it to the FBI — well, that’s quite a thing."

Good stuff

Jesus, Comey is bringing Trump's wife into the conversation.

Despicable.

And if Comey had just done his job when they discovered Clinton's misconduct, there was plenty of time to for her to withdraw and the Democrats to enlist a candidate that was not despised by half the country.

and now the moron is pandering to the very people he screwed, the American public.

Or he's telling us what happened.

I like how you threw in that implied criticism of Trump. That’s really taking your “I’m not defending Trump” defense of Trump to the next level.

Some sleazeball wrote a book and is trying to use the media to sell it. Then Comey wrote his book which will outsell the sleazeball's book.

Lol

Comey is clearly the one who looks like the pathetic drama queen that he is.

Trump wins again! ;)

Yes, many are talking about this former FBI Director becoming a complete disgrace.
