But you didn't fix it. The correct fix was to point out that it was the IG spokesperson who made the statement, not the DOJ. In any case, 16.5's misattribution did not change the meaning. Clearly the IG has more information than the DOJ at this point because the IG has already investigated, and the DOJ has not.

I did not realize that 16.5 was quoting the IG spokesperson. I knew that 16.5 was not providing an accurate account of what the DoJ stated.

And yes, 16.5's misattribution certainly changed the meaning. Claiming that something was said by the DoJ when it was merely said by a spokesperson for the Inspectors General changes the import of what was said.

Boehner reiterates call for Clinton to turn over server

Despite evidence to the contrary, Secretary Clinton continues to maintain that she never had classified emails. Now let's not be foolish," Boehner told reporters at a regular news conference.

"She knows exactly how classifying materials works. At this point the best thing for Mrs. Clinton to do is to come clean and just turn the server over to the IG (inspector general) at the State Department."

The information was classified at the time the emails were sent, according to the inspector general,Charles McCullough.

"This classified information should never have been transmitted via an unclassified personal system," McCullough said in a joint statement on Friday along with his equivalent at the State Department, Steve Linick.

Oh wait, Mr. McCullough, you forgot to say "potential."

I am disturbed that neither the DoJ nor the IGs have done anything to get the freaking server.

That is probably because the IG and the DoJ are actually interested in justice as opposed to making random rants.

Tom Brady, Hillary Clinton, two peas in a pod?

Avid readers of this thread will no doubt recall expert analysis of spoliation in connection with Hillary's bewildering decision to destroy the emails on her cowboy server.

Here is a timely analysis of a similar situation in the news today.

No, Destroying Tom Brady's Cell Phone Hillary's E-mails Was Not Okay

I may not be an avid reader, but I certainly remember some humorous attempts to pretend more knowledge of spoliation than the actual legal professionals involved in the situation. Do tell, please, has Clinton been charged, or even accused, by any legal professional?

It is quite clear that you are adding certainty that the IGs are not. Read my edits to what you quoted, please.

Too much trouble, too much reality for some here. I trust nothing against Dems until it shows up as checked and verified by NOT Fox news or it's ilk - and now I have to be careful of the NY Times!!!!! I have very little trouble believing bad things re: republickers but I prefer hearing/seeing it from trustworthy sources before I let myself get too happy!!!

Hillary Clinton’s private email server might have crashed shortly after the Benghazi attacks, according to emails by a top Clinton aide, the Washington Examiner reported.
...
The apparent glitch took place just short of a month after the Benghazi terror attacks.

ZOMG !~ It must be related !!

As avid readers know....or whatever. Nevermind. Anyway, Hillary said she's turning over the server. As we all know, this will finally be the smoking gun we're looking for *fingers crossed*

Yes, I'm sure that Clinton has left all sorts of incriminating stuff on her drive(s). But in case she hasn't I'm pretty sure that the Republicans can stretch this out for another eight years (assuming she gets elected twice) by just fantasizing about all the bad stuff that might have been on the drives that she erased before she turned them over.

As noted, Hillary is turning over her server and the thumb drive to the FBI.

No need to speculate what triggered that, avid readers know.

Fantastic.

The FBI ordered Hillary's lawyer to turn over all the thumb drives in his possession because he is not authorized to have secret information. Say, where have we heard that before...

The thumb drive is only the most obvious, as those lawyers don't have security clearances.

Oh right....

'twas all you buddy.

YOU DA MAN!

Apparently avid readers are also in Hilliary's camp, and they've finally been sufficiently freaked out. Job well done.

Do you feel as honored as I do to be participating in a thread created by the guy that single handedly got Clinton to turn over the thumb drive? The sheer political power being displayed on this obscure forum is jaw dropping, I must say.

No matter what spin emerges from Hillary Clinton's campaign about the decision to turn over the private e-mail server she used as Secretary of State to the Justice Department, it's impossible to see this as anything but a bad thing for her presidential prospects.

The campaign will spin this as a "voluntary" turn over, but we all know that is a lie. Everything she and her lackeys have said about it was a lie.

The server and thumb drive had top secret data on it, and the FBI told her and her lawyer to turn it over.
