Ed Clintonemails.com: Who is Eric Hoteham Part 3

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, asked Comey at the July 7 congressional hearing, "Did she lie to the public?"

Comey responded, "That's a question I'm not qualified to answer."

Followed up by Comey saying her public statements were false. Now, you can choose to believe that Hillary was honest in being consistently wrong, time and time again, about her own emails, but that strains credulity. And it's not even any better if she was honest, because it would indicate monumental incompetence and cluelessness.

That isn't what earned 4 pinocchios. Again, Comey said she didn't lie to the FBI. He never said she didn't lie to the public. He never said she was "truthful" to the public either. So either YOU are lying, or you just don't understand the difference between her public statements and her statements to the FBI.

How predictable. Your wording was as incorrect as Clinton's wording, yet when I point that out, you accuse me of being a liar. The obvious point you ignored, that I thought I had spelled out plainly, was that you were nitpicking. Your attempts to portray that nit as an elephant aren't impressing anyone.

eta: further, please clearly spell out the differences between Clinton's public statements and her statements to the FBI, preferably with links to the exact statements to the FBI.

Sure. Maybe her head injury made her believe all that completely false stuff she said.

Hey, let's make this clueless imbecile the commander-in-chief! She may be a drooling moron, but she's an honest drooling moron!

The biggest "lie" that you guys are convinced she told is that she didn't have emails that were marked classified.

James Comey says that exactly three out of 30,000 emails were marked. And those were not marked correctly.

OMG, she would have to be a moron to over look that.

You people are unbelievably pathetic.

She explained that what she meant was that Comey said that didn't lie to the FBI. And since she told the FBI the same thing that she did the public, that means she didn't lie to the public.

Who said that she told the FBI the same thing that she told the public?

And that would be monumentally stupid for her to have done, given that many of her lies were already publicly exposed as lies by the time the FBI interviewed her. Telling the FBI the same thing she told the public would have been a good way to give the FBI clear grounds for recommending prosecution. No, Hillary isn't that stupid. There's nothing illegal about lying to the public, but she wasn't going to repeat those same lies to the FBI, not when the truth was already known.

Please provide your evidence that what Clinton told the FBI was different from her public statement. No, not your suppositions and imagination, but real world evidence, preferably including a transcript of Clinton's statements to the FBI.

Why are you dishonestly pretending that lying and saying things that are false are the same thing?

Because it isn't an issue of wording.

Thank you for this. It proves conclusively that you don't know what you're talking about. On the bright side, that gets you off the hook for lying.

Clinton's statements to the FBI are not public. Hell, even the FBI doesn't have a transcript of what she said to them. So it's impossible to know exactly what she said to the FBI.

I'm not pretending they're the same thing. I'm just assuming that Hillary isn't a total idiot. It's possible that my assumption is wrong, but I don't think so.

I'm fairly certain that was wareyins point.

Why are you dishonestly pretending that one would have to be a total idiot to overlook three improperly marked emails from years earlier?

Anyone who cares about honesty would vote for Hillary over the piece of garbage your party nominated. She is way more honest than him.

We should throw honesty out the window as a candidate criteria and just concentrate on who we think has the skill set, intellect and pool of talent to actually run the country for the next 4 to 8 years.

How can you claim that there was a difference between Clinton's statements to the public and the FBI if you don't know what her statements to the FBI were? I appreciate that this got me off the hook for lying, but you appear to have been hoist by your own petard with it.

If voters don't care if she lies, then Congress won't either. And from the responses here, it's clear that the people who support her don't care if she lies. The people who do care about her lies are already opposed to her, and her telling the truth now (for the first time) would probably not win back any support from them.

So the unfortunate truth is that if she ever paid any price for her lies, it's now a sunk cost. She will not pay anything for continuing to lie. And so she will. Even for those who think she is the lesser evil in this election, this should be troubling. But for most of them, it isn't, which is why we're in this mess in the first place.

The GOP members of Congress very much care. It's one of the talking points of why they despise her so much.

It's probably too late for Clinton to repair the damage, but she can certainly stop digging the hole that she's in. 66% of people don't trust her. Does she want that number to be 80%? The bully pulpit is one of the most powerful tools a President has. But if people think you're a liar and they don't like you, they'll just tune you out.

Already given, but I'll give it again:
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/clinton-sticks-to-debunked-claim-that-the-fbi-said-she-was-truthful/

When Gowdy asked if it was true when "Clinton said there was nothing marked classified on her emails either sent or received," Comey responded: "That's not true."
...
Gowdy then asked if it was true when Clinton said "I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material."

Comey's response: "There was classified material emailed."

Al Franken used to have a game on his radio show called "Truth, Lie, or Weasel" He would read quotes from Republicans and ask callers to identify which category fit the quote.

I would grant that many of Hillary's comments were in the "weasel" category, or maybe even the "Leasel" category. (On the radio show, this would trigger a recording from "The Sound of Music")

On the other hand, I'm just not outraged about anything she did and, to return to an earlier theme, I have faith that the FBI staff are honest, conscientious, and intelligent. If they say there's nothing to see there, except "extreme carelessness", I"ll buy that, and "extreme carelessness" isn't enough to make me vote for either Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders

Hillary claimed that Comey said her public statements were the truth. But Comey said nothing of the sort. Comey said Hillary didn't lie to the FBI, but he also said that her public statements were false. The public doesn't know what she said to the FBI, we only know what she said publicly, and those were lies.

But lies don't matter, so talking about them is indeed just a nitpick.

Got a quote from Comey saying that highlighted part?

Comeys not saying what you claimed.

Again, Clinton has clarified her statement to be materiel marked as classified.

I give you 2.5 pinnochios

Hillary Clinton's negatives don't go up when she is involved in a scandal. They go up whenever she asks for a more responsible job. After Hillary is in the new job her negatives go down again.

An interesting theory is that this is rooted in sexism. Hillary clearly does not believe in sticking to gender appropriate work.
