So you think people should just willingly participate?

Yes, I think the former head of the United States department of state should cooperate with investigations by the inspector general of the United States department of state, particularly when she said she would and was running for president.

What do you mean? Do you think she encouraged the use of sending classified email?

That's not part of my claim. But she sent classified information herself, and so did at least one of her aids, over a non-secured system not approved for handling classified information. It shouldn't be hard to avoid doing stuff like that. If you find it hard to avoid doing, you're in the wrong job, and should be fired.

My bet is that over a sufficiently long time having that not happen is impossible.

I don't have a great deal of experience working with classified data, but I have done so.

If that were the standard, a lot of people would be fired.

Hillary can't blame anyone but herself for failing to handle this crisis, but her flaw was not in what she did as Secretary of State, but what she did as a candidate. She allowed certain perceptions to be created and solidified in the voters' minds, despite the fact that they were not true.

Having that not happen ever in a large organization? Yes, that might be impossible. Not having it be the average behavior of employees? I think that's a bare minimum expectation.

How classified emails are handled seem to only have mattered when it comes to Hillary. Trump and his regime are free to use personals servers, non-secured phones, and unsecured dining areas for official state business.

I used to think American pre election campaigns were ridiculously long. Until I saw the post election complains

Actually, the one thing I haven't ever seen in any of these discussions is how much classified material is mishandled on average. Did Clinton actually mishandle more or less classified material than average for people with as much access?

George W. Bush & Co. ran a private email server and deleted millions of emails to cover up some collusion - a well investigated fact.
No one got into any trouble for it.

And Bush/Cheney specifically using the RNC email system to hide the fact they were using the DoJ for political gain. Let's not mention that.

Everyone is so sure Clinton must have been hiding nefarious dealings despite the fact Comey found nothing. And she had every reason to protect her communications from her enemies who had for years been sifting for sound bites they could use to distort the facts.

The typical Clinton haters in this thread just can't let go of the fact Comey found nothing. They don't get it why nothing prosecutable was found.

Keep in mind Comey's latest public hearing. What did he say? He said he was so sure there was something hidden in those initial 3 months of emails that were erased that when the Weiner computer files came to light, he simply had to send that letter to the Senate. Talk about confirmation bias.

And then what, OMG he found nothing.

Is it just possible the deleted emails had more to do with changing devices from the Blackberry to the more secure devices the State Department wanted Clinton to use? Or any other benign reason?

There were a dozen hearings on Benghazi. They found nothing. Comey searched through thousands of emails, he found nothing. People and groups have investigated the Clinton Foundation. They found nothing.

Oh but surely Clinton was so clever she deleted those specific incriminating emails all the while she was too stupid to not use a private server. Riiight.

That's a recurring theme isn't it? The Clintons are ever so clever, yet ever so stupid.

Yeah... No.

Yep. They were trying so hard to find dirt on Hillary and all they could find were a handful of mishandled classified emails, which was found not to be a criminal act.

It's a clear case of Sunken Cost fallacy: if there was nothing, we must have been vindictive prats to keep looking for so long.
So as to not admit to that, we have to keep on looking.

I'm not interested in it as a political or higher up issue. I'm curious as an organizational issue. If you can food, you are going to have some bug parts. What is the reasonable bug parts. What is the reasonable limit?

Bush/Cheney bad!

Clinton right and just to protect her communications from her 'enemies" Freedom of Information Act be damned.

her enemies, lordy....
