I'm not an expert on law, but I'm under the impression that if he published the details it could actually strengthen his claim to a patent right. Don't patents go to the claimaint that can prove early production of the concept (as opposed to who filed first)?In the US (and Japan I believe) your invention can be publicly known for one year before you lose patent rights. You don't have too much to worry about if you give a few details here.
