feh. I hate to admit it. It's a code used at work that chiropractors can use to diagnose ("diagnose") a patient and have my company pay their fees except for copay. It's also a point of pride with chiros... they get their own diagnostic catagory, so in a way it "proves" they are legitamate... quack quack quack. If it weren't a mandate we offer Chiro benefits, I would fight even harder to not cover ANY of it.

This reminds me of my new neighbour ~ a doctor of both naturopathy and chiropractic. I took one of her brochures to get a sense of what she offers. She was VERY quick to tell me that the services of an ND have unlimited coverage under most insurance plans.

It is stunning to me. Limits on dentistry but not on ND. Stunning.

Well, I don't do claims, I do case set up and management.
*sighs* But, yes, this sort of quackery helps drive up costs every year. Invitro fertilization also drives up costs, but it offers some hope and benefits: kids are not a bad thing, you know?

Here in the european country where I now live, smoking is rampant as well as quack medicine, which is fully integrated into the health care system. The stinger is that I must by law have health insurance. Even with the lowest cost ins. which offers essenntially nothing I need (and I have to pay up to around 1200 USD before it kicks in per year,) it is still around 175 USD per month. So here, I am subsidizing quacks and the tobacco industry. At least in the US, as a student you do not have to pay for medical insurance.

IF you are still covered by your parent's insurance, IF they are lucky enough to have insurance of their own. If you don't have insurance through your parents, you do have to pay for it, although discounted rates are generally available.

Yes, unfortunately I am too old, and married, and my wife cannot work because of foreign worker restriction laws. So I also have to pay for her too (argh.)

I accidently went to a chiropracter once. I had severe lower pack pain. The "Dr." plopped some pill in my mouth and had me lie down. She had me lift my legs while she pushed down. With that she concluded that my back pain was caused by a condition called "autointoxication".

Autointoxication is caused by a floppy iliocecal valve between my large & small intestine. Apparently, feces was backflowing into my small intestine and was being absorbed into my blood steam poisoning my blood causing the back pain. The pill was called Okra Pepsin that was suppose to aid in digestion. All this from pushing down on my feet!

Autointoxication was a common medical diagnosis in the 90's................the 1890's! It was debunked over a century ago!

At least in the US, as a student you do not have to pay for medical insurance.

Believe me, this isn't true. I know of NO public or private university in which health care is included with tuition. I'd guess the majority of my students are either covered under their parent's policy, or just not covered.
Graduate students usually have an option to buy into the university insurance plan, but it is still expensive. and it is an option---which means that many do not have insurance

Here it's added onto the cost of tuition automatically. You can opt out, but you have to provide proof of other coverage.

A non-allopathic lesion would be a homeopathic lesion. If you don't believe in homeopathy, then you're cured!
