Charlie Sheen thinks Being Sober is boring.....

I really thing his drug abuse has done permanent damage to his mind. From what I have reading, his manic behavior is a common after effect of intense drug use..and it might be permanent.
It has been a long time since we have seen a train wreck like this. It's like Sheen wants to take every opportunity to scream "I am Freaking Crazy" to the world.

like a real life floydgoethe or rockingham?

I don't get the time line here. I don't know in what order a handful of events happened: whatever the latest news story was about some drugged-up party of his, him saying sobriety (presumably along with being off of other drugs too) is boring, his show getting canceled, and him curing himself of drug addiction. Is the cure the more recent of these, or does one of the others happening since then indicate a relapse? And how long did curing himself take after the last known drug incident before the cure? And exactly which incident caused the show to be canceled (or was it due to something else that the rest of us don't know about)?

Anyway, based on what I saw in the interview clips, he's certainly still doing drugs, very likely to still be abusive, and certainly not going to stop either of them very soon. The wild head-bobbing, exaggeration of gestures & facial expressions & vocal intonations, and fidgeting that others have pointed out are only part of the reason I say that. There's also the angry defensive attitude about it; people who really change something like that discuss it afterward in a way that's distant and often regretful, but if not that, then at least calm and factual. Also, there's the "girlfriend", the other girlfriend who is always referred to as a "porn star", and the "ex-wife" who's still always around and goes on vacations with them and such. Clearly, he engages in this kind of behavior because it's what women have rewarded; in his experience, it's been proven to be the surest way to collect a harem. That means giving it up would mean giving them up, since they wouldn't tolerate the new version of him if he actually changed.

I suspect he's paying those girls a handsome sum.
Imagine spending your days with Charlie.
Considering that he's unemployed, he is only out of the house to give interviews.

After seeing Charlie on TV last night, I think he's exhausted the goodwill his talent has accumulated for him, and it's time to put him permanently on "ignore".

And onward:

Charlie Sheen's Kids with Brooke Mueller Taken from His Home

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- The Sheen saga continues, as his twin boys with estranged wife, Brooke Mueller, have been taken from his home in Sherman Oaks, Radar Online reports.

Sheen surrendered the 23-month-old boys, Max and Bob, from his custody on late Tuesday, according to Radar Online.

Radar Online captured exclusive video of the surrender, which happened around 7:30 p.m.
(...)
The 45-year-old actor reassures one of the boys, saying, "Don't say goodbye, just say see you later." He then repeats, "We'll see you soon," adding, "You have my word -- dad don't lie!"

Sheen also thanks the police, saying, "I understand, you're doing your job."

The children are supposed to be returned to Sheen's soon-to-be ex, Mueller.

Meanwhile, Sheen has tweeted: "My sons' are fine... My path is now clear... Defeat is not an option..! "

Any ideas on how to stop Sheen's...eh...winning streak?

Will he keep imploding until the only people in his life are girls he pays $ 10.000 a day to put up with his crap?

My apology. I think.

Julia

Just kidding. But there are surprisingly few common denominators between bipolar people, and even those are a bit hard to pin down (some have psychoses, some have schizoid tendencies, etc), the only real common denominator is the mood swings, and even those can vary a lot (more manic, more depressive, long, short, etc) AND have other causes.

We're three or four in my immediate family, and we're as different as day and night.

I saw the Morgan interview. I know someone who has ADHD, and his mannerisms and speech patterns were very much like theirs. What do they give people who have ADHD? Speed. He's been self-medicating. It doesn't excuse his behavior, but I have some sympathy for him.

Same here.

He isn't just an Alfa Hotel with a drug problem. He has serious mental issues.
His money and media access makes his downfall public and spectacular.

Part of the tragedy is is that he relies on his public image to have a career.

He isn't just in denial about drug use. he's in denial about everything.
Hence the "winning" mantra.

I hope he allows a family member to reach out to him and help him.

If you saw the second Today Show interview, this does not appear to be an option. At least for now.

I think he's going to implode--I feel sad for his children and extended family.

.
The article in the LA Times today mentioned he is "powerful".
My tv remote can overcome -all- of his "power"..

What's the over/under on how long until one of the "goddesses" is calling the police to report an assault?

I say about 30 days.

So if they write him out ...

Just a question here: I've never watched Sheen's show. Is Sheen an essential part of it? Or is it what is sometimes referred to as "an ensemble cast?" In other words, if the next episode depicts the other characters telling each other that the Charlie character was abruptly transferred to Detroit or something, would CBS have a chance to keep making zillions of dollars (which, after all, is the only reason they have put up with this guy for so long anyway)?

I've never watched it either, but from what I gather he is the central character. It would be like writing Lucille Ball out of I Love Lucy.

He's the main character.
I think CBS has decided that Sheen is such a trainwreck that there is no guarantee he can show up to make the show, and that it's better to cut their losses rather then have another mid season collapse.

At some point, advertisers are going to start bailing, if they haven't already.
