NEW YORK (AFP) – Wildman actor Charlie Sheen, barely out of hospital from his latest reported drug-and-booze meltdown, said Tuesday he has no intention of mending his ways.

"I was sober for five years a long time ago and was just bored out of my tree," he said in a phone call to DirecTV/Fox Sports Radio host Dan Patrick.

"It's inauthentic -- it's not who I am. I didn't drink for 12 years and, man, that first one, Dan. Wow."

Sheen, star of the TV series "Two and a Half Men" and the son of actor Martin Sheen, has become nonstop tabloid fodder with escapades allegedly involving hard drugs, hard drinking, prostitutes and porn actresses.

Two weeks ago he checked into rehab after being rushed to hospital with "severe abdominal pains" from a reported drug- and booze-fueled bender.

The emergency required suspension of production on "Two and a Half Men," in which Sheen, 45, plays a hedonistic bachelor.

In his rambling radio interview, Sheen suggested he should get back to work while he still could.

"Check it. It's like, I heal really quickly. But I unravel pretty quickly. So get me right now, guys," he said, addressing the show's producers.

TMZ, a celebrity news site, reported that Sheen had been partying with five women, including a porn star, and a briefcase full of cocaine at the time of his last meltdown.

The star filed for divorce from his wife of two years in November, days after being taken to hospital following a reported drunken incident at a luxury New York hotel involving another porn star.

In addition to his reported substance abuse, Sheen had several run-ins with the law in the 1990s in cases related to drugs, domestic violence and prostitution.

Sheen laughed off his problems Tuesday, saying the good behavior clause in his TV contract was irrelevant.

"Yeah, blah, blah, nitpick, nitpick," he said. "I haven't read it, but I don't think it covers 'Let us totally dominate and interfere with your personal life.'"

He said crack cocaine was bad, but not for everyone.

"I said stay off the crack, and I still think that's pretty good advice, unless you can manage it socially. If you can manage it socially, then go for it, but not a lot of people can, you know?"

Charlie might not be bored for long the way he is going....depends on whether being dead is boring.
And as for the 9/11 Truth movement making Sheen their bigtime celeb spokesman.........ROTFLMAO.

"I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist (when needed) and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers. If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm really going to be pissed........"

I don't condone his violent outbursts against others, and those must certainly stop.

Other than that, why should I care? He might end up dead? Yeah, maybe. Seems to me he would rather die like this than live sober. I can't relate, so I won't bother worrying.

I admit my cynical amusement comes that this clown was the best the 9/11 Truth Movement could up with when they wanted a celeb to be the public face of the movement.....

There is no excuse for violent(ish) behavior.
Outside of that though, my message to Mr. Sheen is:

"Rock on Charlie, don't let the man keep you down".

We only get what we get (years on the planet), some of us enjoy them more than others.

An image is coming to mind from Futurama, when Bender gets changed into a human and manages to last a week or two before dying during a massive party binge.

Shold probably start a betting pool on when Charlie will a) be back in rehab, b) arrested, or c) dead.

Yeah, killing yourself with crack is really cool behavior....

Some people will go to any length to try to be cool and hip.

You people are so cavalier about the all the jobs that will be lost if Sheen continues his spiral and the dumb sitcom that's already lasted longer than the average dumb sitcom goes off the air! You know, because CBS won't put another show on in its place that could employ the crew involved, and there are no other TV shows that will ever be produced that will need camera people, writers, lighting technicians, makeup artists, etc. How will Jon Cryer even be able to heat his home next winter if he doesn't have his high-paying TV job??

Dr. Drew Pinsky was quoted the other day as saying "This will not end well".

I have to agree.

Ummm... I assume you're being sarcastic.

Yeah, even if they cancel the show because they don't want to put up with Sheen they will have to broadcast something. If that something is another comedy or drama it will provide work for writers, technicians, etc. However, there's also a possibility they will replace his show with reruns. Or with a reality show. Something that doesn't require the same large staff that a scripted comedy or drama needs.

Granted, I'm sure the people working there are fairly well paid (after all, whatever show they work on eventually gets canceled anyways and they have to plan for that eventuality.) Still, it would be a bummer for a low-level tech guy to find your income cut short because Sheen went on a bender, only to see your show replaced by reruns of CSI.

One should not assume, even when one assumes correctly.

Broadcast networks don't really replace shows with reruns per se - they use reruns as filler because most scripted shows don't do more than 25 episodes per year. Even then, year-round programming has become more common with the ascension of "reality" television, so there are probably fewer reruns shown now than in the past (which, in combination with the rise of first-run cable television, I'm pretty sure results in a net increase in TV industry jobs).

TV has always been a fickle employer in that fashion. Anyone working on any TV show could lose his or her job in the middle of working on a season. That it might be due to Charlie Sheen's douchitude rather than the whims of a network executive doesn't make it any more or less a bummer to my mind.

Good thing Sheen said he still thinks "stay off the crack" is pretty good advice then, huh?
Honestly dudalb, Sheen is on enough different substances that his blood could supply an entire party. Why use the one thing he likely isnt on to try and make a point? It kinda defeats the point.

I'm with Charlie, sobriety sucks. A sixer and an eighth of crondo keep responsibilities away.

and the voices

Send him to Italy, I heard Berlusconi was looking for new members for his Bunga-Bunga parties ...
