If Sheen wants to destroy himself with drugs, that is his right, but we have the right to say it's realy stupid behavior.
And those who think that SHeen is somehow "Cool" for doing this are only slight less idotic then Sheen. There is a point were being "Edgy" "Daring" and "Anti Establishment" turns into being stupid.

All his money?There are multiple avenues and producers in the market for illicit drugs, some with nothing to do with the cartels. Pharmaceutics, home grown pot operations, you're just generalizing and you're splitting hairs and seizing on the worse possible scenario here to consider that a valid criticism in this case worth mentioning.

The man burned out his pleasure centers. I don't think anyone is glorifying him or thinking he's cool beyond some rebellious teenagers.

He's made himself a target I suppose, but come on.

Not to mention that the cartels were filling a vacuum created by a government policy that basically invites criminal gangs to capitalize on a market that will never go away - and a bureaucracy that sustains itself on the criminalization of drugs just as much as the cartels do.

So in a sense, Sheen's drug money is also part of the dynamic that builds more prisons and hires more cops.

So isn't it really an economic stimulus that Sheen is helping ensure continues in this troubled economic time?

More prison guards and more cops means more tax revenue for the government and more money going to the local economy.

Anybody can say whatever they want to. It doesn't make it true. Charlie Sheen's life may very well be better with cocaine. I've lived the life that he does although without the millions of dollars. They were the best years of my life.

He's right!

Well, that is, if he enjoys getting rat-arsed, boxed, off his nut, out of his tree, whatever then changing his lifestyle by cutting out something he enjoys is indeed going to seem boring. If he gave it up willingly and didn't want to carry on that lifestyle then it wouldn't seem boring.

It's hardly the most irrational thing he's ever said or done.

Arguably it could be irrational for him to give up that which gives him joy in life. It may seem like a pretty miserable form of joy but if that's all he's got it isn't irrational to want to continue doing it.

[Compare him to someone like Christopher Hitchens who has said almost exactly the same thing. He smokes and drinks because, according to him, it makes other people less boring. Now he's been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus and yet he continues to smoke and drink! We don't say, "That Hitchens! What a loon!" so we don't need to say it about Charlie Sheen for this either. We can say, "Charlie Sheen believes the US government was responsible for 9/11! What a loon!"]
