Cat Scratch Idiot

C'Mon, Meph. Ultimately, Ted Nugent is an entertainer. Rock stars can be out there, regardless of their points of view. While I personally think he is a much-needed counterbalance to the hundreds of flaky lefty rock and folk stars, to say his rants carry the weight of an evil dictator is overreaching, IMO.:o

You're probably right, but to call him an entertainer is stretching it a bit too - he's a one-hit wonder at best and is currently relying on politics to keep him in the forefront.

If I were to tone it down a bit and say that Al Franken makes a lot of sense and is pretty consistent in his rants (although in a far less schizophrenic manner than Nugent), I'm sure someone would beg to differ.

Hmm. I'll give you that Franken is consistent. And he's funny as hell, so I love listening to him. But as far as making sense? That's a stretch.

I liked Al as Stuart Smally, when he interviewed Michael Jordan on SNL when Jordan was winning all the championships. He kept asking him about dealing with his insecurities and low self-esteem issues, and Michael kept giggling as it was live. He was like the most confident human on Earth. It was a riot.

See? I totally agree with you there. Franken is always at his best when he's doing a send up on the left wing touchy-feely stuff. He's extremely good at it. Why he gets all hot and bothered about it seriously is beyond me.

wow this vitriolic angst against nugent, yet to hold up franken who has given the ultimate excuse of "laziness" as a reason for bias in the news? blech
