Seems like all the biblical scholars and skeptics are studying this and their approach is from the investigators point of view and from a historical view, from a district attorneys, point of view or a court of law point of view and the man who put this together is a journalist and was a skeptic/atheist.

There will be some commercials and they are only 30 second shots about 5 or so.
If you haven't seen this, view all of it, take time to view it all.
I know many of you are familiar with it because I have brought it up before.

THis video will show all the people involved in the making of The case for Christ. All involved are scholars who did years of research with an approach of skeptical point of view. I had to click on watch again as the end credits were viewed first. Thanks edge for the refreshing piece of film that edifys my belief in the king. For those who want to view this work, please click on watch again as the end credits run first. If there are any christians out there who would like to have an intelligent discussion concerning the contents of this film, I would welcome that. Thanks in advance. God Bless.:)

Hey girlygirl ..... it's generally polite to post a summary of a video link in an opening post, so that people know in advance what they are being prompted to watch. Regardless of the topic at hand ..... it saves a person the trouble of sitting through a video they might otherwise have not had an interest in. It's also less manipulative, as the person can make an informed choice as to whether or not to spend their time watching the video, instead of being "hooked" into watching it for some alterior agenda. This all rings true regardless of whether or not someone is posting about Jesus, or physics, or whatever.

Now, concerning the case for Christ ..... if he rose from the dead, and is alive and well today, I want to talk with him. If I can't, then it is largely irrelevant outside the realm of philosophical value. But treating as "reality" an invisible entity that I cannot see or talk with doesn't do much for me. I would like to see and / or speak with Jesus / God directly ..... not just to find out whether or not they are real. That is step one. Step two is, can they be trusted, and the "evidence" that most believers use to defend even their existence says, "no ... they cannot be trusted."

How about a summary? Link to videos with no explanation rarely get my attention.

My summary is that they are absolutely right in their approach, which makes it also easy to understand from a skeptical view, True logic from a X-skeptic.
Denial of Jesus/God from an atheist is not logical.

I've read Strobel's book and found it dishonest. He claimed to be seeking all points of view but did not interview a single atheist.

I love how christians love to bring out the ex atheists and then marvel that they now love god.

This really states nothing, it is about as effective as saying someone who started smoking now likes tobacco, then using that as a springboard to say tobacco is good.

Also, to a lesser extent i love when christians attempt to use legal crap in order to prove their case. I mean really, if we want to go this route, we are attempting to charge god with the crime of creating the universe. I doubt that any honest christian could state that they could prove this " beyond a shadow of a doubt.". That is the point of faith is it not?

Why always praise faith, but then feel so threatened by the idea that people could think you are wrong that you attempt to use logic. All this scrambling to try and prove to us that your faith is real, seems to spit in the face of the concept of faith itself.

Sorry to break this to you, but legitimate Biblical scholars are not paying any attention to Strobel's Case for Christ, because his arguments are woefully uninformed and his conclusions don't follow from the whole body of actual evidence.

His book is a crank book, not a legitimate piece of scholarship.

It's like Hal Lindsey's stuff, or the old "In Search Of" show. Pure crank. It is having no impact at all on the actual scholarship.

A summary, that ain't.

Lies, it do be.

How about you bring up some of Strobel's arguments, one by one, and we'll see how they hold up?

I have to say, it doesn't help that you begin this thread with a false statement that "all Biblical scholars... are studying this".

Can you name a single objective academic scholar (believer or atheist or agnostic) who is studying Strobel?

It was unnecessary as he himself was the sceptic.

He himself is as much of a skeptic as the smoker in my analogy is a non smoker.

Do i even have to make the seinfeld reference? You can't just use every group you have been in as street cred when you are no longer a member of that group.

Why can christians not stay on one side of the fence? The guy is a believer, but he is a skeptic, faith is great, but we are going to try and prove it, the bible is the word of god, but some parts have to be ignored.

You can't have your cake and eat it too, and when it comes to intellectual debate, attempting to is an obvious indicator someone is trying to be dishonest.

Ill see your lesser extent and raise you a truth. Are not the laws of christianty based on our faith all pointed at something good. So why try so hard to knock a good thing. I am just curious.

That's not a summary, and it's no better than what I expected from you.

You don't have a command of logic or critical thinking.
